I'm a bit baffled what to do with PoppiQT. What spec do you guys run her with do you change back to tank mode or keep evasion ?
For whatever reason PoppiQT is default for Tora even if I switch position.
The default setting is which ever is in the top slot, during battle the CPU changes blades depending on the type of blade combo that can be performed for example, if you use use Pyra's Special, since is fire, it can be combo into a water or another fire, if someone else with the proper blade combo has the elemental blade, it will switch to continue the combo then switch to default when the battle ends.

As for her setup, I don't bother with it, you better off focusing on her weapon upgrades, and tora's accessories as well as pouch items and even affinity building. You basically don't have to worry about tora as much as the others, he can only use those two, and even if he switches, he still useful for aggro absorbing.
i am not new to how a compass works and rpgs.
I wouldn't know that, but you have told us that you aren't getting anywhere. So my apologies if I didn't understand what problem you was having. I thought it was related to finding the next story event which is possible with the knowledge of the compass and map.

Because the compass is a failure and only points to dead ends. The closes I got was 556 away and the path is block'd by black/red smoke and wind. People must of gotten lucky to find the next story location right away. It doesn't help with so many over powered monster running around so early in the game, one hit your dead and respawn at a random location. I should of bought skyrim of the 3rd time instead....I have high level of buyer's remorse and won't ever buy another game from this company again.

I am going to report this thread, it should be closed. It certainly isn't helpful. Telling me to just fallow the compass isn't help. It leads to dead ends, up and down the map.

No, other people haven't been lucky.
Other people followed the compass properly and got to where they needed to go.

YOU are doing it WRONG, do it right and you'll actually notice that you were just really bad at following instructions.

And also, report the thread for not being helpful just because the little unique snowflake that is you didn't get the help you need (because you are bad at a thing as simple as following a compass) is just comedy gold.
Go ahead and report the thread, I'm sure the mods will get a good laugh reading your report.

I have not found any issues with regards to navigating and exploring in this game.

With regards to high level enemies being about, that's typically an indication of that area or direction not being the correct direction to go in. Having high level monsters in places is typically a sure indication of a location you don't need to be in yet, so to go somewhere else. This coupled with the compass, made navigation very easy for me.

I do understand that it is a little frustrating at the start when you get a little too close to a high levelled enemy and get a clobbering! XD

If a side level quest is causing you troubles, it's probably best to continue with story quests and return. Since side quests can typically be a little more difficult. However, I assume you already know this, since you're not new to RPGs.

Xeno X was definately a lot easier to get around for many reasons, but yeah high level enemies = turn the FuQ around buddy lol
Boy there were some harsh lessons learned when poking them, this is just a common beginner's experience.

yes in the beginning you will get a couple of side quests which you should definitely not try even tho you are higher level. I did the same mistake as you. They are simply not possible to finish without more people in your party.
My tip to you is follow the main quest until you get enough party members. Even after that, keep following the main quest. Because the side missions are pretty hard many times. You can go back and do them at a later time.

Also, yes the compass is bullshit. It's most of the time less helpful than it should be.

Once you get passed these hurdles the game has some great management and great battles to be played.

Pro tip for compass on side quest, open the fast travel and check in the map the "?" box.
Then just travel to a near spot, and you'll save time.

Or you can use skip travel to go back to the area the game put you in and head north...

The compass or map isn't perfect okay? but it helps, is better than not having one at all, which some games don't and even more complaints about getting lost. But this game is about exploring as well. Just following the compass and not willing to explore doesn't help much. Not to mention there is required field skills to use when advancing. I'm sorry that you dislike the game or how they decided the progression system. No one here is telling you to play the game or that you have to like it, we was only trying to help you.

There is more people here not having a problem finding their way around than claiming to be lost. Now I'm not saying you are wrong by any means but no one is saying they are getting lucky either. The tutorial for the compass was shown during the game, it explains how it works, and most people here seem to have found their way around, I doubt luck would help them find where they need to go in this game since it is huge the chances of LUCK being the reason is very low.

I have two question for those who are in late game/finished it. Don't read it otherwise, because it contains heavy spoils for late chapters :
So I'm at chapter 8 and I want to know two things :
  1. About Nia as a blade, how can I up her courage skill ? In french it tells something like fighting alongside Pyra or Mythra but it didn't do anything (I have 1/10 but I don't even know how I got it since I battled many time with then and Nia). Any idea ?
  2. I'm at where Indol became unnavailable. I didn't save after the cutscene (but just before fortunately) so I can still return there. I read on internet and in the game that pretty much everything from Indol is transferred in other city. But is there any missable thing in there except for chest ?
And I guess that's all :P

Well I did bother with Poppi she got over 50% block rate. Not sure how I can get that on PoppiQT when she is based on evading rather then the normal tanking ... PoppiQT got some extra slots as well.

i think if the conditions are ???, you have not unlocked the area or (what is needed) to get the condition (story progress is needed)

also
volff, are a pain, you weaken one, it calls more, the loop almost never ends

Poppi qt is a offensive type, poppi A is a defensive type, that is why her stats are that way. Recalling tutorial, ATTACK type (Has a pink sword icon) grants high attack while TANK (the shield icon) grants high HP and block rate for defense. So basically that is how it works. Honestly I haven't done much to change her at all, mostly build the affinity chart and boost tora's level is good enough, i managed to finish the game that way. If you do want to buff her, you probably need to spend lots of time playing Tiger Tiger which in my opinion doesn't payout much as reward but some require for her affinity

If you see ??? it means that at the current time, the conditions to even bother to unlock isn't met yet, so keep progressing through the story until you do or do side quest. Some need very specific stuff like field skills, party members, mercenary quest or even just heart to heart or talking to specific people. Sheba affinity chart can be unlocked by going to argentia and opening up the safehouse. (There is two ways to open it, one is the front door, requires field skill, and the second is backdoor which is accessible from the cloud sea around it requires different set of field skills) After getting inside, put sheba into the party (As they call it, engage the blade) then a treasure chest will appear, put 1,000,000G into it to unlock all 5 levels of her chart. Some of the skills to unlock require "Blade quest events" to be completed.

Just a few upgrades rather then spending so much time at tiger tiger ... I got Poppi to tank mod 3 so going to try and to do that for PoppiQT as well (evasion) ...

Well good for you, is okay if you want to, Personally i think is nice to have a fully custom character in the game even though some may not use it. :)

Just remember that those mods aren't the only thing to make her better, her affinity chart is just as important, trust me, you will notice a huge difference when it starts to grow. Also getting better weapons and accessories as well as item pouches help a lot more. :P

How do I improve Electra's field skill? It says that II have to talk to two people, but who is it?
I have found Electra's side quests on the first four titans and talked to the people. For all side quests I need at least level 2 of this skill, but I am still at level 1.

edit: I found the solution myself. Actually you can do the side quest in garfront first. The level of another skill was too low when I tried before.

Does anyone know a better and faster way to get Ether crystals from Tiger Tiger for poppi? This seem tedious to keep going into that game and doesn't pay out as much compared to what you want to achieve.

Repeat stage 1 over and over for parts and crystals, go for all 10 chests so you get the +500 ether crystal bonus. Any extra parts you don't think you need, you can go into the Create/Crystallize Parts menu (its next to Poppiswap) and press Y to switch to Crystallize mode. From there you just pick the parts you don't want and turn them into ether crystals.
