So I have an Old 3DS and Old 3DS XL (both with Luma CFW etc installed) and am trying to switch the two systems' games (Mine and my brothers), is it at all possible to just take the games from one and move them to the other or should I just switch the contents of the SD Cards and delete the old games and reinstall my own? If you need further detail please do ask.

It will take a while but here is how to do it.
  1. Make NAND and SD backups of both consoles
  2. System transfer console 1 to console 2
  3. Make NAND and SD backup of console 2
  4. Restore backup and SD from step 1 on console 2
  5. Wait 7 days
  6. System transfer from console 2 to console 1
  7. Restore NAND and SD backup from step 3 to console 2
The contents should be switched now (but console 1 will be linked to both NNIDs)

Thank you, but I looked around a little and all of it was NNID related and neither system had an (important) NNID so I just switched them as you'd expect by swapping the contents of System 1's SD Card to the other card(s) and reinstall my games (saves of which I backed up and restored). But I really appreciate your reply and I'll try that method if I ever need to swap 2 systems again.

You didn't achieve anything by swapping the cards - game installations and save data are encrypted per console so none of it will be useable on another console. You just made there be a lot of wasted space on the SD card (game installations that can't be used).
