^yes there's 3 of them all have souvenir in the title.

Can you clarify please mate, I'm a little lost

So if we want to complete the game properly (which I do), we need to obviously collect all moons in all kingdoms, collect all colored coins in each kingdom and buy everything in each shop in every kingdom.... but what is this bit about 3 souvenir's ?

ok prepare for spoilers though

once you get to the mushroom kingdom you enter the castle and talk to toadette. she will unlock achievements. the achievements will now show up in the moon list. to get the moon you need to do what it says to do to complete the achievement.

there are 61 achievements (moons) to collect they have you doing practically everything to collect them to get them all you have to complete all the mini games, quests and get most of the gear from the shop. 3 of these require you to purchase souvenirs these are the things you buy with purple coins. the highest one requires you to buy 40 souvenirs.

also don't leave it too late to get the moons from toadette you have to get ONE moon at a time from her. that means clicking and waiting again...and again...and again.....

oh and if you think your done after getting all the moons and achievements YOUR NOT. to get to 999 moons prepare for possibly the longest part of getting 100% afterwards...

to get the rest of the moons you need to buy them. you can get them at any store and can get up to 10 at a time for 1000 coins. and you will need to buy A LOT so you WILL be grinding for coins. best spot is in the woodland kingdom near the lookout. don't do this until last because you can cheat your way to 999 moons but if you do that you won't be able to do something else B-)

hold down z and just keep long jumping. when you get to a slope let go and run down it than repeat long jumps. you can always turn assist mode on it doubles the time :P

I literally watched my girlfriend just run down the slope without stopping, so I don' know if there's a trick to it, but I was PISSED because she did it in one go and it took me 7 tries rolling

Man!! this bloody gold koopa is cheating in this race

I use the onion thing on legs to work through the maze and that damn gold koopa just keeps making that massive jump

I still can't do the 'cappy jump' :( and it looks like its the only way for me to beat him (cheating b@stard that he is haha)

I have assist mode on and still cant beat him

Any tips ?

jump, throw cappy, dive while holding y, throw cappy again, and dive. it's easier than it sounds

Practice long hat jumping

ZR>tap B>tap Y>ZR>hold Y

Once you get the rhythm and muscle memory it's SUPER easy. It also makes races absolute cake

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

    For your R4

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
