Hello
so i have a problem with ftp
I'm using filezilla on my pc and the ftp server that came with hbc

My problem is that it's way too slow
in the last 30 minutes, only 10mb got transfered
Is it normal?
btw it's my second try to transfer pokemon UM with the ftp and during the first try, which lasted 2 hours
it got up to around 2gb transfered and when I refreshed filezilla, i noticed that rthe file of pokemon inside my sd card started to decrease instead of increasing over time. I reached 2gb, and 15 minutes later, it was around 1.8gb
is normal too?

thanks for your help

Cant. It seems my msd card slot on my pc is broken. It doesnt recognise my card
Usually, when i insert a msd card in it, a ligth turns on. Now, nothing turns on
Are you sure it is the reader and not your card? The ftp slowness and the PC not recognising your card could have a common cause - maybe your microSD is corrupted or something. Check it with H2testw https://3ds.guide/h2testw-(windows)

That sucks. ftp will always be slow. I guess better internet would make it faster but I don't know exactly how it works. Looks like you'll have wait another 2 hours. :(

Edit: or get a usb SD reader.
Internet has nothing to do with it, i have 120mbps, plus its all local

Never though it could be that because when i use it to download from freeshop, its all fine
And that link, i must open it on my 3ds?

No, it's just instructions for using H2testw to check your card.

yep, remove the micro sd card, connect to pc, backup data clean it, test it and restore data
you can just test it with the data there, which should be enough to tell you if the card is bad, but backup anyway

Oh good point, I didn't think of that. Do you have any other SD cards you can try in the reader? Or, can you borrow a USB reader as suggested above?
I dont have any of this here, i left all of them in my former home when i moved

Plus my laptop is being repaired by the geek squad (broken screen)

I transferred Ultra Moon with no problems in around an hour, might be your SD card.

ok... filezilla says its finished...
So i enter FBI and it tells me
Size : 891.99MB
Installed size : 3.45GB
I'll try installing it, but I have doubt it will be ok

nope, I installed it twice, and nothing appears on the home menu.
since i cant see in the 3ds data manager, I'm affraid I lost that space on my msd card forever

FTP is definitely slower than just putting your SD card directly in your PC and even slower than the official wireless network transfer. However FTP shouldn't be as slow as you're experiencing, 10mb in 30 minutes is a red flag that something is wrong. I did a transfer the other day through FTP, about 1GB sent to the 3DS, but that probably took between 45 minutes and an hour.

1. Passive bragging fail
2. Yes, as the other users said, it could be a fault and/or fake SD card.

and even slower than the official wireless network transfer.
Uh, no. The transfer speeds for both are the same depending on one's router, and the SMB protocol tends to choke up much more than FTP. It also only works on Windows because Nintendo used an ancient version of Samba, and I'm not a masochist.

OP, the wireless chipset in the 3DS is garbage. O3DSs can only pull a consistent 600 kb/s, and the N3DS can only pull 1.2 mb/s. Don't expect upload rates to be any faster than this. In your case, though, it sounds like your SD is crap.
