Hardware No audio output on HP Omen 25" monitor

So, I saw that my gaming monitor has an audio out/3.5 mm jack for headphones, speakers, etc, which would be useful for other HDMI devices that I plugin, but I've ran into a snag. That snag being that there's no options in the menu that allow me to adjust the volume, much less enable or disable the built in speakers. The primary reason is to hook up my Snes Classic to it, but it's HDMI only, and when I hooked it up, no audio was being outputted. Even when I tried to connect an aux cable from the monitor to my PC speakers, nothing. Now, I have a GPU that allows for audio via HDMI, but I already have Realtek audio on this motherboard, and I'd rather not conflict that with the nVidia GPU/HDMI audio out, so, I'm at a loss on what to do to get sound from the Snes Mini when I plug it in the monitor.

Granted, there are those wonky HDMI audio splitting devices, but they're expensive and cumbersome, what do you suggest I do to get sound? Unless I have to plug in the actual speakers into the monitor, but even then, there are no controls in the menu to change audio at all. I've read the documentation on here, and it didn't give any info regarding the 3.5 mm audio jack

My PC speaker has RCA inputs for left and right, so maybe I could route to those inputs with one of these?

Before 3.5mm/RCA outputs on TVs became common I used to tap off the speakers and make my own audio outs. Would not be too hard to put an in line volume control (think the sort of thing you get on some headphones) and straight switch to turn it off in there either. Whether you want to point at a monitor that shiny with a soldering iron is a different matter. Not to mention it sounds like you have issues getting the audio out which means redirection is not going to help here.
I too read the manual for your monitor and other than a warning to adjust the volume before using headphones/earbuds (how would have been nice of course) I saw nothing.

As well as the fun little boxes there are amplifiers with such functionality.

Equally you can probably force certain programs to output audio via given methods, not sure if there is OS level selection these days but I do recall seeing it somewhere. Before I said poke it and got a client a card with HDMI out we had fun like that with his amplifier.

Hmm, the manual wasn't very helpful, I don't even know why they put a 3.5 mm jack on there if there's no way to control the volume. My other question is if I would be forced to use both the Realtek HD audio drivers and the HDMI audio through the GPU drivers (if that's even possible). Right now, I found a y-cable male to female adapter where it connects to the monitor and to the speakers' RCA input, haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure about forcing inputs or programs to use them, either, and I was hoping to do something without spending money on anything. Would one of those HDMI/audio splitting devices do the job at all?

I got this reply on another forum regarding my setup (Dell UltraSharp U2414 + Logitech Z200 speakers):

"Audio from the SNES mini will go through the HDMI cable to the monitor, then you'll need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack cable to take the audio from the monitor's line-out to the aux-in on the Logitech Z200 speakers."

The Z200 has volume control and also a jack for headphones.

Do your speakers not have a volume control? It's a pretty standard feature which would explain why HP didn't include a volume control in the display.

Read these guides to see if you find anything, because I sure as heck don't see any volume/audio controls. And no, I'm not exchanging this for another, I already spent enough money on it as is. I'd rather just get a dongle that outputs RCA audio from HDMI. It seems like an oversight if they have a jack, but no speakers, I can't even see where they are.

I think you might have misread my post slighly, I asked if the speakers have a volume control, not the monitor

Oh lol, yes, they do But I assume that if it's like the HDTV that has an audio jack, there shouldn't be any issue when I plug in an adapter to the monitor and then to the RCA inputs on the speakers, right? In theory, all I'd have to do is just turn on the speakers. I hope XD

Sorry for the bump, but I have an update and question:

So, yes, it does work when I pass the audio through the monitor when HDMI devices are hooked up, BUT, the audio is weak sauce and I have to turn up the volume very high to get even decent sound. So, with that said, how can I get more amplified audio? I'm trying to look on Amazon for audio amps, but have had no such luck as there are so many devices on there, I don't know where to begin. What do you suggest I get so that when I plug an audio cable in the headphone jack? @The Real Jdbye @FAST6191?
