KMFDManic (v2.21b) (V2.5)(WIP-BETA)

PM Only.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

@Cluster @KMFDManic I just discovered that there is a 2016 version of SNES9x available. It actually loads some rom hacks that 1.53 doesn't like the Level Design Contest #9 collab hack over on smwcentral. I'm not up on the history of things here, so what are the chances of including it as a module? There is a Linux library of some sort on page 2 of the forum I linked below. I assume that's what you need.

Download link:

I can see if its possible.

ther eis only the way to make a undlock patch over it.

on the original kernel (around 5 different) should it be not because its a costum kernel on it.

the problem is there are tons of different roms

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

strange works fine with standard emu on the mini nes and hakchi 2.21b

Sorry, so you mean that the normal .smc rom, works on Snes mini normal emulator (not nes) ?

Quick question, what feature do I lose by using retroarch? I haven't missed it yet because in reading up alot on people saying they have issues... But if everything just works on retroarch I might just do that but I want to know advantages and disadvantages.

Do I lose the border, the trying our the save States or all of it...

@Cluster

Could be the native emulator, could be something else.

GAME: Super Aleste / Space Megaforce

Issue: The bass is far too loud.

Tried: I have tried the No Intro ROMs for the USA and JAP versions, both compressed and uncompressed. Runs fine under Retroarch.

GAME: Little Magic

ISSUE: No background graphics appear on the original or translated ROMs. Unplayable.

I have tried the English translation patched and JAP ROMs from the No Intro collection both compressed and uncompressed. Runs fine under Retroarch.

How do I get Rock 'n Roll Racing to work? When selecting this game to play I get a black screen that quickly goes back to the main SNES menu.

Upon adding the ROM in Hakchi 2.21b it stated that the game 'won't work correctly with the original emulator' and asked me if I want to use a '3rd party emulator for this game?' I selected yes, but I don't think it installed the necessary 3rd party emulator to run the game.

Also, I saw a video previously for the 2.20 version of Hakchi that had the 3rd party emulators available for installation under the Modules > Install Modules menu bar at the top. 2.21b doesn't seem to have that any longer.

What am I missing here??!

So you're saying I could add this to a different drive on my PC or HDD and it will work just like the regular version?

You must Install the retroarch Module and the snes9x Module.
Before that you must Download the retroarch Archive from Cluster und Install it in hakchi.
That Archive is a extra Download.

When installed you start the game with the Commander --retroarch

Hello all,

My original post was a bit long and I didn't have time to stay on and reply back and forth that night so I'll try this again and shorter this time!

- I am not that tech savvy. IDK how I even pulled off the NES Classic modding.

- I already have the very old Hakchi2 version 2.11 on my PC and it only has NES games for my NES Classic. I don't use Retroarch and don't want to.

- I want to mod my SNES Classic with just SNES games only (with no Retroarch) so here's my question:

Can I download the new Hakchi for SNES Classic to another location on my computer, like my D drive? (NES Hakchi is on desktop) and use both programs separately?

If not, please bear with me that I am new to this but am simply a fan and want to mod my SNES. I already have the ROMS ready to go, I'm just concerned about the two Hakchi programs and don't know how to merge them or start over if that's the case.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm using 2.14 on my NES classic and the new 2.21 on my SNES classic. I modded the NES how I wanted it with 2.14, so I never updated to any of the newer versions. I have 2.14 in my download folder and 2.21 on my desktop, and both work just fine. Personally I think you would benefit from putting retroarch and the SNES emulator on the SNES classic because there are several games that won't work without it and honestly you would never know it was using retroarch; all the save features work the same as the stock emulator.

Credit to Sketcz from another forum.

Keep pressing start until you get to character selection.

Keep going forward until you're at the screen to start a race or buy new stuff for your car.

Choose buy stuff.

You'll notice the palette is all wonky.

Now hold L+R+Start+Select to soft reset.

The title screen menu options should now be visible!(still wonky but hey).

Obviously make a save state now, so you can load straight to the menu for future new games...

I appreciate your help but it seems a little overwhelming to add Retroarch as I have no idea what the hell I'm doing in the first place. I'll be surprised if I can get the SNES modded at all!

P.S. - Do you know a list of the games that don't work?

I'd like to have Rock n Roll Racing but it's OK if I don't. There are a few that I would be upset about not having, though.

It's really simple, if you modded the NES you can mod the SNES. I'm pretty stupid when it comes to computers and I did it without any problems. There are several tutorials on youtube that show you exactly what to do and are easy to follow.

I can see if its possible.

Appreciate it! But don't spend too much time. It's probably only necessary in specialized cases. I did end up figuring out that the Level Design Contest #9 romhack I wanted it for works fine on Canoe.
