So. I've been testing out the release candidate and tested quite a lot of games (about 100 or so) and here's what I've found that has had issues:

Bahamut Lagoon c7 error black screen
Seiken Densetsu 3 : c7 error (edit: another copy I had does work. Seems you need the right version of the translated rom)
Dragon quest III (translated): c7 error
Tetris Dr. Mario - weird screen glitch but works
Super Street Fighter 2 - c7 error
Illusion of Gaia - black screen after starting game
Rock anmd Roll racing goes ingame but menu is black. Can't navigate
popn twinbee - rainbow bell adventures weird screen glitch but works fine
popn twinbee - weird screen glitch but works fine
The firemen - Needs 60hz patch else sound is bad. Works fine when patched
stunt race fx - menu glitch otherwise ok
Treasure of the Rudras - c7 error black screen

This screen glitch I'm referring to is the game rendering over the overlay border. Slightly to the right, and slightly larger than it should be.

How about Great Circus Caper? I'm going to redownload a different version and try again for 3.
Ah yes. That game didn't work for me sadly. Forgot to add it to the list of games that don't seem to work.

EDIT: Added pic of said rendering glitch. Probably already known but I thought I'd share still.

Someone Test the Release canidat from hakchi?

Gesendet von meinem SD4930UR mit Tapatalk

I've been using release candidate 2 that someone compiled and uploaded to reddit.

It seems to work ok for adding SNES games. Even automatically puts them into folders for you too and keeps the original games intact.
Though I do add one point of caution: Adding too many games seems, to me at least, make the controls stop working. After about 110 games I added I encountered this issue.

Simply removing a few games and resyncing seemed to fix it though.

Maybe it doesnt like having less than 35mb or so memory remaining.

Yes. It's the same issue as stated in here:
https://github.com/ClusterM/hakchi2/issues/328

Too bad it's been closed without stating the solution, so a little help, please? Thanks.

I actually did a video about this awhile back. Save States are not just tied to the Games. They are also tied to the Folders that they are in. So, if you were to actually rename a save state, on your computer, then throw it back onto the NES Classic, it would revert to the exact same name it previously had when you transferred it from the Mini to the PC. This works in two ways, as a double edged sword. If you were to have an uncompressed Game, make a save state, then compress the same game. That save state would no longer work! And, also, if you copied the identical folder with game and desktop file to another person's hakchi2, they could use your save state! Also, save states are tied, in a third way, to the Core you first made them with! I can help you fix the save states issue. But, you may not be able to use your previous ones. It can be a valuable lesson in backing your saves up, and not changing anything until those specific games are done. I have done a ton of work with save states. That is also what led me to make the decision to unlock N64 Save States within Mupen & Glupen. I made a video to show people about micromanagement. I also got Atari 2600 Saves working, very recently:) So, for right now, you need to be willing to start from scratch, and I can help you fix the saves.

I'm actually looking just to disable it from coming up completely, but being able to change it from START+SELECT to something harder to accidentally hit like START+SELECT+LEFT+B, etc would probably also work too. I assume this would be some sort of either global or per-game command line argument edit, but not sure.

Are you referring to select+start opening RetroArch options?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Well, I'm in a dual position on this.
On one hand, I've got myself an NES Classic and a SNES classic. I've already modded the NES and with KMFD and his continued support for getting everything to run on it, I'm okay never hacking my SNES.
On the other hand, my brother wanted an SNES classic and I got him one. He wants certain games on it, but I don't know how many, if it's only for SNES or if he wants to be able to do other systems as well. I'm waiting on his list of what he wants and figure by the time he gets it to me, we'll have a better understanding of what can be done on the SNES. At that time, I may hack mine as well since it seems Nintendo is using a better emulator than the ones we have for the NES Classic.

Edit: if you couldn't figure out the dual position, it's this:
1. I'm so interested in the hacking done on the SNES that I'm constantly looking at every thing.
2. I'm okay waiting because I don't need it done right now.

If it makes you feel any better, I got stuff I had previously gotten to run on the NES Classic, to run on the SNES Classic, such as NES, GBA, and so on. Yes, RetroArch works. I was planning on doing an update, to let people know I will be working with all of my previous milestones, and trying to get them onto the SNES Classic.

You go to dump kernal, install driver's if you haven't done so, hold reset for like 5 seconds while you hit power.

Technically, the drivers you "really need" do not install until after you've flashed the custom kernel. The waiting for NES error is rectified by flashing custom kernel, as an example of my meaning.

Stunt Race FX, being a Super FX Chip game...I believe should be possibly fixed with a more recent python script (And, hopefully in the patches Cluster added to latest Hakchi code). I didn't personally test it. But this code is in the latest script I used. I am seeing many revisions that are helping more and more games work! I commend anyone and everyone who has put their input into the headers, footers, hi, and lo roms information!

def get_super_fx(data, header_page):
"""Returns 0x0C if the ROM uses a Super-FX chip, otherwise 0x0"""

# Games that use Super-FX chips have these ROM types
SFX_TYPES = [0x13, 0x14, 0x15, 0x1a]

addr = header_page + 0x0FD6

if (data[addr] in SFX_TYPES):
return 0x0C
else:
return 0x0

Hi guys So I use hakchi 2 v2.20rc2 and I added the games without a problem or an error but everytime I start them on the snes mini I get kicked back in the menu.

What did I do wrong? the games are all compressed in the .gz format and all ntsc/ntsc-j roms.

The 21 Orginal Games work without a problem.

Use the original zipped roms of every game !

Last time someone said you have to the PAL SNES games with a NTSC patch, but what does this patch? Makes it the games faster, so they output 60 hz or does it only increase the frames to 60 hz and the Game runs like in pal?
I think it disable the 50hz Lock and Set it to 60hz

I believe they need to be in .sfrom format.
The Mini snes needs sfrom but it Coud Reader *.GZ files.
But The GZ use a smaller space
Im from 104 to 79 with the GZ compressed with 30 games
