I adjusted the script to call the full path of ping instead of relying on environmental variables that seem to randomly break for people.

Download version 2.2.1 from the OP and try again.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Released a quick update 2.2.1 with the following changes:

## [2.2.1] = 2017-09-30
- Adjusted PING command to call full path instead of environmental variable
- If minimum required files aren't found in SOURCE_FILES, the "Hide extensions for known file types" File Explorer option is automatically turned off to ease with investigation

I stripped down my old wiiflow no-ios-reload channel loader code to its essentials, wrote a new set of wii vc firmware patches for NAND access and put it into a small executable.
You are very clever. look forward to seeing how this progresses

Okay, new problem. In case anyone asks, I made sure I updated Java, and my OS supports Robocopy.

I still don't understand. What do you mean it's not there?

This is the error it said happened. "the system cannot find the specified file" so the JNUSTool must not have downloaded it, or it was deleted.

ok so the first piece to the puzzle is done, updating nfs2iso2nfs to allow for a better flexibility.
-separated wiimote passthrough patches from homebrew patches (as some homebrew may want to keep that emu around)
-improved wiimote vertical patch, now also swaps around the A/B/1/2 buttons
-improved homebrew AHBPROT patch, should now work correctly

Basically for homebrew that wants to use the gamepad, add -passthrough into its command line together with -homebrew, for homebrew that doesnt want it (like my upcoming wiiware launcher) just use -homebrew and also maybe -wiimote or -vertical depending on whatever is best for that particular title.

Thank you so much for putting this together, it was very easy to use! I was able to convert Endless Ocean 2 and install it - our 8 year old is going to be thrilled as it's her favorite game!

Question, when in Classic Controller mode is there no way to still use the Wii Remote alongside it? Reason being that for whatever reason Endless Ocean 2 (which supports using a CC) requires that you point (w/the Wii Remote) at the screen and say 'Yes' to the prompt before it'll work. The buttons, triggers, and joysticks on the 'Classic Controller' (Gamepad) will not work until then. At first I thought it may have been an issue from injecting - but I fired it up in Wii Remote mode and plugged in a real Classic Controller and then discovered this behavior. I can't even begin to imagine why they thought that was a good idea. Since the game uses both the pointer and gyro, emulating the Wii Remote won't work either.

Alternatively, if anyone knows how I may be able to modify the game itself to always use the Classic Controller (bypassing the prompt), then I can do that and convert/install that version instead. My intention is for my kids to be able to use the GamePad exclusively for this game without anything else.

Lastly, has anyone put together a compatibility list for games that work with CC enabled (I've been gone a while, haven't been able to read through this thread)?

Thanks again for all of your hard work, I greatly appreciate it!

@FIX94 Do you think in the future we might be able to map a Nunchuk to the Gamepad? I'm asking for Little Kings Story, it doesn't use the pointer or the gyro but sadly it doesn't support the CC

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
