Hacking Can't trigger Chainloader

Pressing start on boot just takes me to the Home menu. Presently running Luma 7.1 which I understand means I have made the shift to b9s. Only got .firm files in luma/payloads, no .bins and they're the latest linked through from 3ds Guide.

Any suggestions?

I should add, this is in a effort to update b9s as luma updater fails when I try to update at present.

I´m on latest luma on my 3ds.
The latest would be 8.1.

Holding select just brings up the Luma config for me

Update to the latest version of Luma.

Holding select while the 3ds boots, triggers the Luma chainloader for me.

It's not supposed to. Holding Select brings up Luma's configuration.

I had the same issue when I tried to update luma from 7 to 8, I fixed it by deleting the boot.firm off the sd card and getting a clean copy of the Luma 7.1 boot.firm from github
