Since neither @al3x_10m nor I own one of these cards, we can't really test them. The only suggestion he has right now is to update the card to the latest official firmware and retry with the ARDSi steps from scratch.

The firmware update file provided doesn't work with what that program describes as "3DS compatible" ARDSi cards. I did manage to find this, and successfully updated it. To repeat, my ARDSi is the one with a yellow sticker..

Like 4 others before me in this thread I have the ARDS without a cable ...
In any case - it's a spectacular job to make this junk usable again!

Is anyone up for creating a soldering diagram to hook it up with USB?

Looks like the same cable for the ARDS and the ARDSi but this is the pinout of the ARDSi USB port. Colors are same as the text color. Standard USB pinout?

Is it possible to unbrick using this method? I heard that magnethax can unbrick, but I haven't found a guide on how to do it.

That's my purpose with magnethax. Unbricking. There's no official guide on it, but I keep reading you have to make it so that "ntrboot.firm" is Decrypt9. So get the firm of that, rename it to ntrboot.firm, and do a CTRTransfer.

The 3ds compatible ARDSi cards (a.k.a the ones everyone is having trouble with) have a separate updater, and won't work with the standard ARDSi updater (it just throws an error that the connected device is not a compatible Action Replay). I did have a shot at reversing the two updaters to try and tease any obvious differences out, but I'm afraid machine code isn't my forte, especially with the pure amount of conditional jump statements in them  The code manager 'reset' function with the patched exe just seems to actually reset the 3ds-compatible ones, as after running the patched reset I know mine still boots as a normal ARDSi (showing as Game & Watch in a regular DS) - not sure if the other yellow ones are behaving the same way, as I only have the blue one

It's not working for me. I have a blue screen brick. I'm using the AR DSi method. The AR DSi is working fine before doing this; I kept it in good condition throughout the years. It worked on my DS Lite but never on my 3DS. I followed those instructions, renamed Decrypt9WIP.firm to ntrboot.firm, put it on my SD Card (my NAND backups are already in /files9, so I don't need to copy those or a ctr transfer). I put the SD card into my bricked 3DS, hold down select + start + x with magnet on top of the A/B button region, and held down power button. Still blue screen, nothing changes, nothing loads. Do I need a game inside of the AR or something? Because I don't right now

Yeah it does, I was curious if that meant the patched exe actually worked. I was able to boot into that main menu and everything.

Oh, that's not the brick I have. Mine is one where it boots to black screens. Have you tried just getting SafeB9SInstaller and/or GM9 and renaming those to ntrboot.firm?

Yes, I've tried various .firms and none of them seem to have any affect at all. It always boots into the same blue screen.

Here's how I hooked up my ARDSI.

Don't go by the color of the wires in your USB cable, it's possible that on some USB cables the colors will not match, check with a multimeter to be safe.

BTW;

I was able to flash official firmware to my ARDSI, the software recognized it etc. Flashed it with the patched memory manager but it won't load on a old 2DS, I get a black screen the same as others.
My ARDSI is the one with a black label and has no Micro SD slot.

Edit; The Data + and - were reversed on the proprietary Datel USB jack, fixed.

If it boots into the same blue screen it looks like you haven't placed the magnet or the game correctly.
Here's a video of how I'm doing it. I have the AR DSi in the back, and I'm making sure to press all of the buttons. the back of the flashlight is a magnet. Ive tested it on my other consoles and it's easily capable of triggering sleep mode on them.

EDIT: I've even tried placing multiple magnets all over the console. It will never load into anything besides blue screen:
