Whatever, still doesn't tell me how to install it correctly without bricking it. This is where I bricked my 3DS the last time.

I don't think it's a stupid question. it's a cautious one. I've successfully updated to 1.3. @kublai , follow the b9s guide. if you're on 1.2, just follow sections 1 and 2. you'll already have the correct luma version (8.1 or 8.1.1). this is also a good time to update godmode which you'll do in the guide. I had an outdated one myself.
