I'm about a year away until I can actually play the 'M' rated titles I wanted to years and years ago or at least try out.

I finally figured out yesterday on why my two other playstations in the home broke was becuase the internal fan finally died out. So essintally the system died becuase it had no fan; it was overheating which is why it died.

Luckily I found a solution; external fans :P it essentially replaces the need of an internal fan. So I guess you can say you can get a little bit of life out of something already dead.

Anyways, any recommended titles to play in the future or currently?
I'm thinking about playing GTA 4 & GTA 5, Dead Rising, Twisted Metal, Dark Souls III, Fallout New Veagus, and Fallout 4, and maybe Dead Space if i'm up to that. Looks kind of grusome tbh, COD WWI, COD II, COD III. Bioshock also looks likes an intresting survival horror game. I might play God of War at some point but the gameplay doesn't look as interesting in comparison to a fast paced fighting hack/slah game. Farcry 3, and 4 look neat and also titles I wanted to play, Dead Rising 1 - 4 also look neat, Assasians Creed is another game I have been wanting to play for a long time, Titan Fall 1 & 2 (which was rated Pegi 13 in Europe but M in America?) Is another game, Skyrim is a title I really missed out on and have been hopeing to play, Saints Row V (Like the last game with super powers.) Is another kool game, Dead Island looks okay would try it out though, I might try out Modern Warfare if it takes its self more seriously about character/story, red dead redemption another good game, Mase Effect 3 I heard is a good game and has been getting great reception for its story driven moments (except in the end.) I guess fighting games to but I normally like to play a game to enjoy it not to really learn the fundamentals as much. Watchdogs 1 & 2 took an intresting concept on GTA imo and looks neat.

Of course I can't play any of that until somewhere next year, so in the mean time i'd like to appreciate and go back to the "classic" games I played.
Infamous 1 & Infamous 2
LBP 2 (Hopefully if the community still makes existing levels and not a copy & replica of same level ideas.) Its essintally Mario Maker but with more freedom.
Skate II - Skate III I saw Youtube videos of these but I was afraid to play them becuase I thought I wouldn't enjoy it. Now that some time has gone by I think the price has lowered a little.
Uncharted (All games) I played this when I was younger (14) and only played the third game. I plan on buying the whole trilogy (except the 4th because that's only on PS4.)
There was also a game where you race other people in a derby. It came out when the PS3 first launched but never tried it.
DragonBall Z 1 & DragonBall Z 2, these are essentially both fighting games of the Dragon Ball series. When I used to watch the TV Show as a kid I kind of enjoyed the fighting mostly over the actual dialogue of the show sometimes. I only played the demo but it looks awsome.
Shadow of the Colusues I played this game but eventually got bored of having the journey focus more on going from Part A to Part B killing a boss every single time. I would play it again though.
There was some Disney Action/Adventure game made but I forget what it was called. It was essentially a racing game but the focus was to dodge incoming attacks/powerplays coming at you to stay in 1st.
Dungeon Defenders 1 is a game I got becuase it was free for PS Plus members, I got it at first and didin't really like it but after a few more levels of gameplay I really got into it, I completed the game essentially (except for two levels that I deemed unbeatable on console edition.) And got one of the ultimate weapons in the game.
Dungeon Defenders 2 I guess? I can play this on PC but the problem is my PC can't utilize the game well compared to the consoles I have.
Plants VS Zombies I might try since I never did.
Dark Souls 1 & 2 - These are rated teen but never tried them due to the PS3's dieing and mine being held hostage for PS Vue :(

And that's pretty much everything I can think of in the top of my head I missed out on xD. So you can probably see my frustration when I have been waiting & anticipating to play a game that already come out.

Any other recommendations?

Valkyria Chronicles is the best PS3 game. Also take a look at Resonance of Fate. It's a very different approaching, but interesting.

If you like RPGs : Ni No Kuni

I would prefer staying away from RPG's and JRPG's much as possible unless it has a focus on culture in the west. I could play a JRPG and could probably never understand or get anything out of the story.

That's just me though. I would play a game even if it's mindless and not consistently explicit, but I couldn't stand playing a game that has anything you couldn't really get out of it. Like a JRPG/RPG most of the time :/.

Pheonix Wright is kind of a good example that is more of a puzzle solving game and "RPG" I guess you could call it an RPG :/. In terms of story its just okay in my opinion the game keeps me interested because the game is consistently throwing out puzzles and actually reflecting off of something meaningful sometimes. Even with its sometimes weird culture it still keeps me interested because it has emphasis on the West and East part of the globes

Dragon's Dogma
Terraria
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
The Last of Us
Rune Factory
Bioshock
Dishonored
Red Dead Redemption
Little Big Planet
God of War
Fallout

Well, one way for recommendations is to just search "best ps3 games" and to get more results, you just wiggle in the words a bit.
Here's a few:
http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/all/ps3/filtered
www.dorkly.com/post/76706/best-ps3-games
www.ign.com/articles/igns-top-25-playstation-3-games

I will have to check back on some of these games later at some point. 8 or 7 months left to go and counting ._.

Thanks for posting here though guys.
I will have to share what I think about some of the games, like was it really worth the wait. Obviously of course it is but was there something different people could have done to open the games to more audiences.

You mentioned Dark Souls 1 + 2
Well mah boi, you can't forget about the original Demon's Souls
Demon's Souls just has a charm the other titles don't have.
Also, here is a tutorial at how to "Git Gud" at Dark Souls:

Lord of the Rings Conquest
TES Oblivion
TES Skyrim is pretty bad on the PS3, but if you can handle it then go ahead cause I beat the game on PS3 (you can even convert the game save to PC if you wanted).

I just begun playing skyrim and after playing it for two hours and reaching the first town, i am absolutely shocked at how boring i find the game to be. I get how the world is huge and how there are tons of side quests. But the story is what i play for and that plus other things seem to be killing the experience for me on the PS3. I mean firstly where is the mini map? how do i now where i am going? i hate how that isnt in the game, secondly the battles seem boring since the sword never hits the enemies and omg why do i need to pick the locks of shops? why cant i just walk into houses and rob shit like i can in Zelda BOTW.

I dont hate the game but i find it so boring. Is it just me? or does it get better?

I have never played a TES game before, but i have played open world games before like GTA V,ZELDA BOTW,Final fantasy, persona and dragon quest. But this is like none of those in regards gameplay. Also i dont really like that HUD at all, it feels so oldish.

i am only asking you since you said "it is pretty bad on the ps3". Or is it me? if so What am i doing wrong?

There is no mini-map unfortunately, some people would prefer a mini-map but Bethesda has this.

I am fond of this type of on-screen map I find it somewhat easier, but it's just my preference. How the map on the top works every direction you face certain towns/locations/places will appear on that small map, if you walk that direction you will eventually reach that location. There is surprisingly no mini-map mod as of 2017 that is proper for even PC.

Actually if you have a PS3 CFW you can use this to enhance gameplay for Skyrim, it can load BSA/ESP/ESM mods and a lot of them depending on the textures and size. The PS3 version of Skyrim uses DDX and PC uses DDS, and all mods use DDS which is why the PS3 can be slow with mods. However it is amazing and quite a few useful mods work (Don't bother with 2k textures it's like holding a shotgun to your PS3).

Battles are SUPER boring I have to agree with you on that, there are mods to fix that for PS3 CFW and PC though, but there is no default way to fix that. I do like the sneak battle system though it's always fun to sneak kill. Picking locks is just to make it realistic ya know? Of course the game already is very unrealistic, but it's common that a shopkeeper would lock his doors so no thief (which at that time period there were a lot) could get in.

So all in all to answer your question "What am I doing wrong?"... I would say nothing, you played it just like I played it and didn't like it. If you don't like vanilla you could try mods if you had a PC. Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind were my teen-year games so I guess it's no surprise I would not love them. If I were you to spice up the game start robbing more, increase your pick-lock and sneak abilities, join the dark brotherhood when you can, have the DLC (optional), buy a house, maybe have kids or a wife, go to tons of dungeons, do cool side-quests, become a vampire or werewolf, and every once a while for fun go around towns murdering and robbing, lol. I don't think your playing it wrong, I think you are just a low level so you can't do anything fun. Just trust me try to get to level 20 or 15 then do fun stuff. So it will get better for you hopefully. :)

Thanks for the advice. Skyrim is one of those games that i WANT to like but there is just so much i find dead and tedious. Oh and yeah i now about the mini map but it isnt like what DAO or Zelda or FF XV had which is a proper small mini map in the corner. Yeah i understand your points and i have decided to sell my PS3 copy and i will give it another go in the next 5-6 years on a PC when i own one that can run it at high quality! I plan on playing Dragon age origins now instead and that looks awesome since finally a mini map lol and the world seems story driven and alive. Skryim felt gritty and dead. But yeah i dont think i will ever try morrowind or oblivion since skyrim isnt for me right now and in 5 years when i go through it again, if it is then sure i will pick it up. Oh well anyways thanks again for the advice, i appreciate it!
