It makes no sense to have HaxChi launch Mocha. HaxChi has it's own CFW. Just change the setting to default=sysmenu in HaxChi config and reinstall HaxChi. Now when you tap HaxChi you're in CFW. If you have HaxChi you don't need Mocha
Oh well I'm dumb, I'll fix that later today than thanks. Do I have to delete the Haxchi install and redowload Brain Age to install Haxchi with the new config or can I just rerun the haxchi installer?

Just reinstall over the top. No need to uninstall anything. Make sure you move HBL to "b=" in your config so you still have a way to get to HBL after you change default to sysmenu

Try this, thats what worked for me.

Download and install this: https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.5.4/python-3.5.4-amd64-webinstall.exe

download this zip: https://github.com/JumpCallPop/WiiUTest/archive/b558dffdf0fa6dbb5989e26132573b9677785602.zip

unzip it somewhere.
Now, open a command prompt (search for cmd on the start menu)
type ipconfig to obtain your pc ip address
also in the cmd, navigate to where you unziped that archive
once you are in the right folder, type this into the same cmd: "py -m http.server 8080" (without the quotes)
Allow it to pass the firewall when prompted
Now, on your wii u browser, type http://<YOUR.PC's.IPADDRESS>:8080
Replace <YOUR.PC's.IPADDRESS> with your actual ip address and it should load

above was the quickest and easiest way i found to set up self hosting.

also a note on hakchi, in some youtube videos, after you run the hakchi exploit from homebrew it appears to change the vc you downloaded to a hakchi icon, mine did NOT do this, it still shows brain age as the vc. however when i click on brain age it launches homebrew. i am unsure why thats happening. again there is nothing wrong with anything, its only how it looks thats different

idk know what was wrong with my setup, i tried everything but nothing seemed to work, but gordreborn told me to use xampp and for some reason it worked. if anyone's having trouble try putting the exploit files and mongoose into a file inside of xampp named hdocs then load mongoose from there, that's how it worked for me.
Thanks to all the people on this board

glad u got it working. your issue with mongoose may have been the listening port. u can change it in the configuration.

do you have .tga files like bootDrcTex.tga bootTvTex.tga and iconTex.tga in your haxchi folder when running the install?
EDIT: To be clear I meant the haxchi folder on your sd cards root.

I wrote a really simple server in Python to help with self hosting if anyone is interested. It should work on Windows, Mac and Linux with Python 2 and Python 3. It will show you your IP address and port that it's hosting on as well. I thought it might help some people with self hosting the exploit. Download here https://github.com/dojafoja/simple-python-server and extract it into the folder you want to host. Then run server.py. I know it's a simple thing but some users don't know how to self host or find their IP address. This does both, on any OS, with both major Python versions.

It does this for me, and in the CMD, it says bad request syntax and code 400, message Bad Request version and a bunch of other lines. I am running python 2.7.11

I am trying to get this to work. I have successfully gotten the exploit to work, but when it tries to load the homebrew launcher, it just hangs on the bubbles and music loading screen. Anyone know why?

Also, @KockaAlex is right. You need to open the curtains for it to work.

You don't have homebrew apps on sd card

that's most likely what happened. replaceable files need to go in the haxchi folder. that includes icons, screen images, the config.txt, and btsnd (boot sound) files.

would these alter the icon post install? or is it something that has to happen at the time of install? could i add them to the sd now, or is it something i would have to reconfig or reinstall haxchi to get? again it all works just didnt look the same (icon)

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
