Thanks In Advance for the help ^-^
(ISSUE FIXED NOW)

to anyone reading this, i would reccomend just making your own as mine turned out wonderfully and all i had to do was trim the top of my wires to make it work :3 (also making your own is free if you have some spare wires and solder ^u^)

Might as well just buy a 5 dollar one on ebay.. You can even get them shipped from US sellers. Mine arrived in 2 days, and i got one of the Mac Book shortening micro sd card readers lol

https://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.php?title=SDGecko

Check the photos at the bottom the use 30 awg and dont solder the front pins to the front so they dont block the back ones. Solder to just the very end of the back ones and open trace lines for the front ones..

(i know i suck at explaining but yea)

Well. You will have to cut the board a bit longer so you have access to alternate solder points. Use thin wire. And you should be good man.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also you could just solder the points straight to the mem card slot b on the mobo and route the sd adapter to the bottom or side. Maybe hide it in one of the exp ports..

Well i took apart an official memory card as well but it looks unusable for this purpose. So later tonight im going to try what you said and if it works that will be awesome :3

Yea i would not use an oem because of how small the board is. Yea clear all the wires, remove as much solder as you can. And retry with thin wires soldered like the photo at alt points

What game are you testing it with?
Most officially licensed programs, including Nintendo's memory manager, don't support SD cards.

Of course I'd only suggest making an SD gecko for educational reasons.
You can buy them from China under $3 shipped.

The Alt solder points, instead of soldering to the pad you scrape off some of the mask and make a pad. Just follow the trace lines.

Yea are you using Swiss or something to see that the sd is detected?

Yes im using swiss and other homebrews and the sd gecko is simply not detected by it. It acts as if nothing is inserted in slot 2. Do i need a special sd card brand?

And i did mention a few hours ago that i DID NOT want to spend money on this and thats why i am just building it since i had everything i needed.

You dont need a special brand its just not reading it because the solder job is making the connections to the memory card pins not stick.

okay so by trimming the wires down to fix the slot and spacing them the card now works without having to resolder anything :P i will probably resolder at a later point when i have the tools to do so ^u^

I rescued a gamecube from the trash but Disc Drive doesn't work.

Its modded with a QOOB chip, can I use SD Gecko without a DVD?

I believe you can flash swiss to the qoob as ipl replacement. Or you can always get a wasp chip. But since you have qoob you should get the ipl replacement.
