In your picture it doesn't seem that your console is connected to a wireless network. I have no idea if the option only shows if you are connected to a network, but I have a hunch that it does.

my N3DS XL couldnt connect to pc couldnt connect to N3DS IP address
So yeah, if your console isn't connected to your network then you can't use SD Management. This isn't an issue with your 3DS, but rather your network itself or your network configuration on your 3DS and/or PC.

Also, if you have custom firmware then you should just install FTPD on your 3DS and FileZilla on your PC. FTP transfers are much more reliable than Samba shares.

First things first, I like your pyjama trousers! :-D

I often did the microSD data management with my N3DSXLs and they always showed that they were connected to my network router. I have always waited (a few seconds) for it to show that it was connected.

Have you already tried this?

By the way, I use FTP for file transfer because it is way faster.

OK, no problem. We can get you there.

1.) Go into the system settings on your 3DS. Tell us the firmware of your 3DS (top screen bottom-right corner).

2.) In the system settings, you go to network / internet settings and connect it to your WiFi network (not your PC!). If you got no connection, you have to set it up (I recommend manual setup and let the 3DS search for your WiFi). You have to enter the WiFi password. After that, your 3DS will test the connection and hopefully tell you that it was successful.

3.) Go back to system settings and wait until your 3DS is connected to the WiFi that you just set up. Then, head to microSD data management and connect your 3DS (which is and has to be connected to the same WiFi as your PC) with your PC.

I hope this makes it clear. Good luck!

(I might probably edit this post to correct some info when I got my own 3DS in my hands.)

Oh, now I got what you were trying to say. I cannot see microSD data management in your picture neither. I do not know what to do then, sorry!

There hasnt been any hardmods or anything done to the motherboard of the system itself do you know? Its strange but that screen looks exactly like what my Old 3ds system shows for data management.

You didn't downgrade the System Settings app to use the mset exploit did you?
That would cause the issue you are describing. Additionally, Super-Stable 3D settings would be missing.
There is a modded home menu version of MicroSD Management on that ISO site. I like using that instead because it's quicker as I don't have to go through System Settings, and it doesn't reboot the 3DS on exit.
But anyway, downgrading mset is unnecessary now. B9S is the preferred CFW entrypoint these days.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
