You're using the Channel? not the elf?

What do you mean? Haxchi + CFW only works with the ELF files, not RPX as far as I know (according to Fix94). Why would that make any difference? I'm using the RetroArch Launcher from here http://www96.zippyshare.com/v/QX5fheii/file.html

So yes:

Start up Wii U
Load Haxchi + CFW/sigpatch
Loads RetroArch Launcher, then the retroarch RPX.

I'm not going to use CBHC because I don't trust myself enough.

What should I use instead?

Uhhh what are you doing when this happens? Because I haven't had a problem since I switched to channel. Snes9x then to the Genesis one?

yes your using the Channel (there's also an app called Retroarch launcher as well that's all) :P
Since you've installed that Channel the only DSI Error you've gotten has been the Vorbis one? or have you had DSI Errors that said the same as mine too?

I was playing Chrono Trigger in Snes9x mainline, then went to change cores to Genesis Plus GX. Nothing more. I never had this error in 1.4.1 or 1.5.0, so something got effed up in 1.6.x. *shrug*. I'm not the only one who has these errors, so there are merits to the bug report.

Just the Vorbis error. Loading game after game worked fine, it was just changing the cores that made it crap out.

If i have to record a video, I will. But I am within a nanometer of giving up and going to the PC or even the Wii port.

If it's just that vorbis error then your not getting the one we were all always getting before.... The channel is WORKING it's just this new Vorbis error that's the issue now :)

So WAIT? Youre retroarch file in the apps is elf and not rpx?

No. I always use RPX files for my apps, I never use ELF anymore. The only time I used ELF was when I loaded HBL after loading Haxchi + CFW. But, I only load CFW, I didn't use HBL at all today. This is starting to...oh man. I need a break.

But we're still getting the other issues, and this happened when I only changed cores, not ROMs, and neither issue should be happen, stability issues should be resolved, and knowing my luck, the GitHub report will be in vain because like before, none of the devs were able to reproduce it. :(

I have to record a video to show how I do it.

I've been using the channel to launch retroarch and I never had any problems other than the ogg verbos one.

Same, since I installed it I've had no issues, it's just this Vorbis thing seems to have come in today.. although I havent had it yet, but Iv'e only just updated.

So u just go to menu and then switch cores? Why do u do that to begin with? I just loaded chrono trigger then while playing loaded sonic, no crash. Then tested changing cores mid game without ending game or initially selecting game to swap to and no crash. I'm using the nightly from 2017 08 07

Try loading Sonic again then exit retroarch. Then boot it back up again and load that same rom and see if it will play.

Again

1 - Using Haxchi + CFW
2 - Installed RetroArch Launcher via WUP Y Mod
3 - Loaded RetroArch via new channel installed to NAND
4 - Loaded RA 1.6.4 RPX via RA Launcher
5 - Loaded Snes9x main, loaded a few ROMs, no issues
6 - Changed core from Snes9x to Genesis Plus
7 - DSI error regarding ogg code/forced to hard reboot system.

I'm so baffled, so confused, and admittedly, wary to use RetroArch on Wii U if it's going to be unstable like this.

You mean implementing the auto core detection (from loading no cores, then picking the ROM and choosing the core to auto detect) instead of manually changing the cores? I didn't try that, admittedly, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'll try it later. My head >.>

Only SNES and Genesis have been updated with this ogg support? or all the cores have been affected?

All this drama, I'm already paranoid of updating anything RetroArch xD

I'll just update individual cores from now on.

I'm not trying to add to anything, I'm stating that the stability is, uh, unpredictable at this point. I may just load each core as its own app to see if it's more stable by spam-loading ROMs :P

Nightlies from August 7th work fine for me lol.

Right, but for others, it's a crapshoot, a gamble. I may as well just use them one by one, it's just less of a hassle.

Foxy. I say this kind day. Really. You might need to talk to someone. Like to get some chill pills. You need to learn how to relax. You will enjoy it all better then.

Also. I keep my roms unzipped. If that changes anything I doubt it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Do you have your cores installed individually in the wiiu/apps/ folder or do you have them all together in the retroarch/cores/ folder?
Cores folder.
