Hello, I don't know much about hacking the new 3ds but it seems the guide is clean and ok to follow, however I still have some questions:

I have 2 new 3ds in firmware's: 9.2.0-20U (they came with that fw and I have never use them online)

1. I have 2 64gb microsdcard samsung evo 48 MB/s speed are those ok for the speed and more importanly the size? or are they too small? what is the recommended size? ( I have never put sdcard inside the new 3ds ever)

2. When I setup wifi for the first time to go online to do the udsploit hack, wouldn't the 3ds auto start trying to update to latest fw since it sees online on? do I need to be online for the whole hack and can I be online all the time after it? <---- not important to be online here but just to know!

3. Do I really need everything in the guide? like godmode9, DSP1, etc. (I need to read more I know :( )
the guide doesn't really explain what most things do!

4. Should I wait for the new hack with the magnet? sounds like it will be easier? the method now have a lot scary "if"

Note: I read some troubles with latest luma 8, if doing the hack now, should I wait for luma 9?

Thanks in advanced! remember be kind, I am at a level before a Noob! :)

That's going to make your job really easy.

1. I have 2 64gb microsdcard samsung evo 48 MB/s speed are those ok for the speed and more importanly the size? or are they too small? what is the recommended size? ( I have never put sdcard inside the new 3ds ever)
64GB is more than big enough. Most people I know use 32GB and have more than enough space.

2. When I setup wifi for the first time to go online to do the udsploit hack, wouldn't the 3ds auto start trying to update to latest fw since it sees online on? do I need to be online for the whole hack and can I be online all the time after it? <---- not important to be online here but just to know!
You only need your wireless turned on. You don't need to connect to the internet. In other words, turn your wireless on, but make sure you have no internet connections in your system settings.

3. Do I really need everything in the guide? like godmode9, DSP1, etc. (I need to read more I know :( )
the guide doesn't really explain what most things do!
Do everything in the guide. There are only one or two small things in the guide that are optional, but if you start manipulating the guide and run into issues later, it's going to be really difficult to diagnose your problem. In other words, 99% of the guide is highly recommended, so follow the whole thing.

4. Should I wait for the new hack with the magnet? sounds like it will be easier? the method now have a lot scary "if"
Soundhax, what you'll be using, is easier than ntrboothax (the magnet hack). Follow this guide to install B9S and Luma3DS. https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(soundhax)

Turning wireless on but without wifi connection sounds a lot better. :)
But after the hack is done I will need to update to latest OFW when the guide says to do it, should be fine since already hacked but I am in such lower fw to go to the highest I hope there is not problem.

I am hesitant because I will need to do all those steps "twice" lol
double scare I guess.

Note: I just checked the microsdcards and they are exfat!! should I need to format to fat32?

Thanks a lot Lacious for the quick response.

After you install B9S and Luma3DS, there is no reason not to update to 11.5 online. Just follow the guide, and you'll be fine.

When people run into issues that can only be solved with a 9.2 CTRNAND transfer, they update directly to 11.5 from 9.2 when they're done. This happens all the time without any issues.

Cool, I think you just make me ready for all this. The last question is

microsdcards = exfat!! should I need to format to fat32? but windows is not showing fat32 format option, only NTFS? Weird!!

Ok, I have the micro sdcard formatted to fat32 and clubster 64k.

Since I have never use a micro sdcard in the new 3ds before, should I insert it first and boot up or something?

like for the new3ds to create an index or folders in them? and then do the hack? or just leave them pure blank and put the files from hack?

Thanks!

I believe it's better to use a 32k cluster size and yes you should boot your 3ds with the ad cards so it can create the folders it need

thanks for the information, I will need to reformat both again, I thought I read cluster 64k was best
for 64gb cards. A lot conflicting and confusing info out there it seems. I will insert them into new 3ds and boot up then take them out and put files or Do I need to play a game for a bit before too?

You can just boot, power off, and remove the card

Thanks, one more question, I just opened the new 3ds for first time and it has a 4gb sdcard in there?

I didn't know this, and it has 2 folders DCIM and nintendo 3ds, should I copy those folders to the new sdcard?

because after I put the new sdcard in new 3ds and took it out, it only created the nintendo 3ds folder and its also only 5mb while the one in the original 4gb sdcard 125 mb?

Nope, I bought them long long ago, but never changed the micro or I never connect them to the net.

kids just play games with them (needed to buy games twice lol)

hmm, one of the folders inside nintendo 3ds folder (the one with long numbers) the numbers are even different in the original micro and the new micro which I just inserted in:

As you can see, I don't know anything about this and I will hope it goes fine,

should I just copy those folders from old micro to the new one? the size different is huge

original = 125 mb?
new one= 5 mb

will the kids loose something like savings?

Also, that folder with a different number just created, make me think I can't just copy those folders from one micro to the other! but what about all those 120mb lost? I think I can copy the dcim fine since is just game pictures. but the other?

Yes I believe they will lose saves on digitally installed games if you don't use the original Nintendo 3DS folder

Thanks, but I still need to know this :

should I delete the "nintendo 3ds folder" that was just created in the new card when I booted up with it,
and just copy the folders from old micro sdcard to the new micro sdcard just like in windows copy and paste?

is that acceptable with the 3ds? so in short, If this is ok to do, I never even needed to insert the new micro sdcard into the 3ds, I just needed to copy the folders from old to new sdcard?

Anyone knows this?
First, don't bump your thread. It makes people less likely to want to help.

To answer your question, you can delete the new Nintendo 3DS folder if it was just created.
