Gaming just got a "the software was closed because an error occured" !?

hey guys, this is the first time i get this kind of error.

i never got this with my digital purchases (MK8 deluxe etc.)
but i have gotten this message with my Disgaea 5 Complete cartridge.

but i read somewhere ,where this error occured for them with a digital game (Zelda botw).

did this happen to anyone else here ?

thankfully i only lost about 15minutes of gameplay.. (i save as much as i can in every game i play haha).

and also does this happen like more frequently :/ ?

The Switch is a verry young and complex console (complex meant in form of software) which makes me wondering that i never had a error message or needed a forced reboot since i own it.
Phps in its early stage the Stability updates from Ninty makes some sense

This happens to every console, it's a crash and it's normal.

Just reset the console, I had a my Switch freeze on me once while playing BOTW a week after launch on the first firmware.

I hard powered it off for a few minutes then rebooted and then did another reset and I haven't had this happen to me since then.

After I firmware update I always do hard reset manually, I also do the same for software updates; I also hard power off my Switch at least once a week.

I think it's more problematic that the switch has such a weak wifi signal because they put in such a bad network card.
Even my old 3DS works just fine online when I play Smash4 while I already so many Splatoon 2 disconnects...

Normal crash. Restart the game and play normally.

damn that sucks, do you still get those crashes now .. ?

@leonmagnus99 It's pretty stable as long you have at least two thirds of signal strength on your switch, but that is a lot closer to the router than other devices need to be.
As soon as the signal is too weak for even a second, the game cannot resume, you then play for ~10 seconds on your own with other players stuck painting with infinite ammo which looks pretty hillarious but is still annoying.

i do have 2 bars always i think, i am not that far from the router, usually i can play MK8 deluxe everywhere at home without any issues.
as long as that error only happens because of bad internet, i will not have problems then.

happens to me (and most people) quite often (every 10-30 mins or an hour) in Lego City Undercover. If you play that game, im pretty sure you will crash when playing. An update may have fixed this though!

I NEVER crashed in LC: UC.

LCUS is a little glitchy so it's plausible; I've had the controls lock when I started a vehicle chase and had to reboot.

What costumes are you using? are you playing handheld or tv mode?

Mostly TV Mode, have some special characters I obtained with codes, I.E Alien (Astronaut Class), Baseball Player (Civilian Class). I also bought Rex Fury in the Robbers (or whatever) Class.

I never gotten your error but the only game that frozen on me on the Switch is Disgaea 5. I had to reset the console (hold the powerbutton down for 5 seconds) for it to live again.

It happens on my 3DS, Iphone in rare cases, Switch, Wii, and PC from time to time. Its a normal.
Unless your getting it say every 15 minutes booting up the game, you might want to call Nintendo.

Just for experience, I have had a NDS Cartridge and game console crash if it was basically left out in dust or missing for eternity and would have games crash all the time, I have also had the same problem with an older 3ds I owned when I was still much younger I gave it to my sister and she literally dropped the thing from her hands every 5 seconds, she apparently managed to unsolder the charging cable & the cartridge slot so rip old 3ds.

Unless you haven't touched your Switch in 5 months, or have been dropping it somehow, then for the moment its a normal issue.

I switch between both but it usually crashes in TV mode.
