Um... Wii U? And the DreamCast before it?
Piracy on Wii U happened when it was in "Dead" state.
Basically end of 2016/2017
Devs got pissed because their games hardly even sold and didn't require support. (Atleast, according to these morons, Wii U was shit) And most devs were too dumb to learn PPC. (When PS3 also had PPC...)

Yeah, I agree. Homebrew would be awesome. The Switch is the perfect console for Homebrew applications and emulators. But everyone knows what happens when Homebrew comes along: piracy.

I'd rather have neither than both at this stage of the game.

There are people who aren't buying the Switch strictly because there isn't any way to pirate games on it so, as I said before, with piracy they're at least going to buy the console itself

when this does end up getting hacked would we have some thing like the 3ds where we can update to the newest firmware with cfw and still have hacks other wise its pointless and you cant play online

redNAND would be useless on Switch.
(Like on every other platform, imo)

mean some thing like sighax or al9h

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

this being hacked is a big deal to Pokemon cheaters no switch hax no way of genning Pokemon without paying for poke bank and transferring your gen 7 and older hacked Pokemon and not genning gen 8 Pokemon

Still useless. We don't need to sighax anything because we aren't even getting it in this year or another. Also, sighax is only used to play Unauthorized software which we aren't getting anytime soon.

Meh, if ARM TrustZone gets cracked then we will be able to write OS for it and then flash it without a problem. Like Android and other crap.

guess no cheating Pokemon and there won't be anything like power saves since the saves are stored on the console and not the carts like the 3ds.

Personal conversation with one of the tweeters, they do not know if they will be able to do anything with the kernel, they will NOT make the kernel public for obvious reasons, and they most likely are not be able to implement anything via screenshot signing due to ASLR. No I will not post screen shots and no I will not say who told me so take my word for it or dont. This is as of yesterday 7-14

Dumping the Kernel is a major step! The Wii U didn't make any major progress for almost two years; but the Switch has made a huge amount in one step, only in 5months!

To be honest, this is a huge step. So we should be hype; it only opens the door for exploits to take place.
