Why isn't 'Indifferent' an option?

But between 'Yes' and 'No' I'd suppose I'd vote no because I'm more interested in that the Switch gets more games which is sorely lacking at the moment, okay, someone can claim the Switch has 'loads' of games but that's if you count the eShop games. The Switch is very bare-bones on retail first and third party games right now.

I really hope that the Switch gets a high quality first person shooter as I'd love to use the Joy-Cons and Pro Controller to test it out (could use it on a PC but it's not the same).

I'm interested in part because of the hardware, would be interesting to see what could be delivered.

I know some are saying 'not too soon due to games', the counter argument though is that if we leave it too late then the homebrew scene may be DOA and it becomes mainly piracy/backups.

Why even ask?

I remember with the Wii U it seemed like every other day someone was asking 'WHERE'S MAH HAX!!!!', so something like this shouldn't be expected (in other words, say hi to the state of this sub-forum for the next couple of years).

I voted yes because...

1) The ability to back up and restore my save files to the SD card
2) Being able to have more control over my console
3) Customize my console(if themes ever come out)
4) Create backups of the cartridges that I own

Yep but the point is dead consoles normally see an upturn in sales when it gets hacked and that never happened with the WiiU

Nor did it happen with the Vita, which also struggled way before any hacks surfaced that haven't been achieved on the PSP before and didn't affect Vita games at all. I guess you can't just link sales to piracy. If there are not enough interesting games to pirate, it wouldn't matter if the console is shut tight or hacked wide open.

But to support the point that piracy does at least not kill off consoles, I want to point to the PSP, the DS, the Wii and the 3DS. All did well after piracy being easy to achieve.
