A new system update was just pushed. Time to figure out what's in it...

EDIT: 11.5.0-38. No NATIVE_FIRM update, but a bunch of other updates, probably related to the New 2DS XL.
EDIT 2: No friends list update either, so it won't require an update to play online?

Yes. I've updated both my o3DS and n3DS to 11.5, and they're running Luma3DS no problem.

It's safe to update, they really didn't add much.
In fact I tested the reboot patches to make sure those weren't broken (they were broken in both 11.3 and 11.4) and those work as well.
Since they didn't update the NATIVE_FIRM, there's nothing to worry about this update.
