Bought my Switch yesterday, everything is fine and dandy - no dead pixels, left joycon connectivity is on par with right one etc. But today I was looking around system settings and when I was turning vibrations on/off fast, I could feel that right joycon has stronger vibrations (by feeling and sound). It's just minor inconvenience but...

Does anyone else has this "problem" too?

I haven't had that problem. And people saying other controllers do it so it's fine are wrong.
Older rumble controllers (even modern ones) have a large weight on one side and a small one on the other, which produces that effect. However the joycon do not use the same technology, and should feel identical on both sides

Exactly! On X360 controller one motor has bigger weight and (probably) lower rpm. As I said its just minor inconvenience and I was just curious if anybody else "suffers" from this issue.

But another problem arose. ZL button is stiff and doesn't have that springy feeling like the ZR button.

Ordered tri-wing screwdriver so I can look inside.

Have you tried holding it in your other hand? Could be your hands have different sensitivity...

Not to dig up a dead thread, but I just got my Switch and noticed this while playing Blast Master Zero. There is a big difference between the rumble on the right joy-con vs the left. I haven't tested another game yet but I plan on trying it with Mighty Gunvolt Burst and Cave Story tomorrow.

scart35, do you notice a difference while playing any games?

I just turned off the vibration because it doesn't feel right for me, so I might just as well not use this feature and to be honest, I haven't missed it at all.

This isn't a problem, like the PlayStation controllers have different weighs at each rumble motor to make the vibration effect stronger.
yes that's the "dualshock" effect. there is a higher frequency and a lower frequency motor (one does it faster, other does it stronger), to make some effects.

however the joycons are 2 controllers not 1..

The joycon don't use dualshock like other controllers do. Both joycon have an identical haptic feedback motor inside, and should vibrate almost identically.

See (in 3.0 firmware) if you can update the joycons atached on Switch to discard that part of the problem
I already tried that with no luck. A friend of mine was playing and said he couldn't tell a difference so maybe it's just me.

Test using them on the opposite hand as well, one hand can be more sensitive than other... (use the trick on turning rumble on and off)

Ya, I think I may have this also. But I never notice it unless I'm toying around with the "find my joy-con thingy"

Fascinating: I've had three Left Joy-Con, and compared to the two Right Joy-Con I've got, the Right ones definitely had a stronger rumble than the Left ones — plus they output a slightly different tone than the Left ones when using the 'Find Controllers' option in the new update.

I think I'll try turning Vibration off, clearing the pairings, re-pairing my Joy-Con, and turning Vibration back on; if that fixes things, that'll be great. : D

Edit: HM! As it turns out, that did — absolutely nothing, actually.

But, interestingly, all but one of the four Joy-Con I have left — the Left one that came with my Switch was defective, so I no longer have it — have about the same vibration strength. The Right Joy-Con that came with my Switch is significantly weaker than the two Lefts and the other Right, though. And the Right Joy-Con from the extra box of 'em that I bought… it seems to be the loudest, but not any stronger than the two Lefts. o.O

In conclusion: …I want a replacement for the Right Joy-Con that came with my Switch; its vibration is wimpy compared to the other three Joy-Cons'. >.>

Well the right joy-Con emit a loud sound but the vibration is slightly identical, if we covered the right Joy-Con to cover the sound you feel the same vibration, maybe is a issue but the vibration for my is identical and the sound emited for the rigt Joy-Con is more loud.
