I'm new here so please don't rip my arms off.

So, I recently got a Wii U, and.. kinda go CFW installed.
By that, I mean installing Mocha, then hating moving onto FW.img, then onto another fw.img file which is called iosuhax.
I'm pleased with it, as it lets me do most of the stuff I need to do.
But it's tedious loading into it all the time.

So I'd like to know how to coldboot the Wii U into loading into the fw.img located on the HBL.
All I can find are Haxchi tutorials and stuff.
I don't want to install any of the other stuff for.. reasons.

So I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Haxchi replaces isouhax isouhax is no longer recommended

The only two ways you can coldboot into a CFW is CBHC and coldboothax. Coldboothax is afaik very unsecure and outdated.

I would recommend using CBHC because it's easy to do if you follow a guide step-by-step.

Or you use Micha again because thats the latest of them all because fw.imgs are outdated as hell

But I don't have what's necessary for the installation, and I really don't want to brick my Wii U. I went through a LOT to get it.
I feel like I'd mess something up. Apparently, making just one mistake would turn my console into a door-stopper?

Well the only thing you need really is a DS VC (around 5$) and a big enough SD Card (depends on the size)

There is infact some things that you could mess up IF you don't pay attention to the guides that is.

I followed a guide on that chaos site (which I can't link to you for legal reasons) and it worked flawlessly after that.

Sadly CBHC is the only safe way to coldboot into ANY CFW. If you decide not to risk it you'll have to start Mocha/your fw.img every boot.

I just used up all my money on other stuffs, so I cant afford the game or anything right now. I'm super clumsy, so I might just play it safe

Ok thats also fine. But something still bothers me. You say you moved from Mocha to a fw.img right?

Why did you move from Mocha?

You can just use mocha auto boot just go to loadiine.ovh choose the mocha option and set it as auto then HT go now every time you launch the browser you launch mocha

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

this is the recommended guide BTW http://wiiu.guide/

The Haxchi tutorial turns into CBHC, which gives you the option of booting a fw.img from the start. It says so right on the page on GBATemp https://gbatemp.net/threads/cbhc-v1-6-coldboot-haxchi-cfw.452615/ "You can boot a fw.img or Mocha CFW on your sd card which could be usefu". So if that's the route you want to go, then go for it.

CBHC includes Haxchi which is a different IOSUHAX implementation. It, for instance, will not give you the speedboost in Wii U Transfer, nor will you be able to use Saviine. Those two require Mocha.

So, bypass every other step and just use that one?

Actually you can use Saviine even without an IOSU exploit... you'll probably mean SaveMii
And mocha makes them usable
So there isn't really a reason for using fw.img

Oh, look, another special snowflake! Just no, it's as useless as your post.

@OP fw.img is a very outdated method, especially when we have just plain Mocha CFW and Haxchi.
Haxchi dominates browserhax exploit by just replacing roms.zip of your DS VC game (Must be legit) then you're able to launch HBL, it's built-in CFW straight from Wii U menu.
CBHC is ColdBootHaxChi, it has built-in CBHC CFW and it's no.1 pick if you want CFW on boot but it's risky.

It's like a modchip, but it just costs $5, not $50. If you don't want to waste $5 to softmod your console then you don't want to hack it.

The old coldboothax method still requires a DS VC game and it's brick risk is higher because it's outdated as hell.

Thank to everyone for their advice of which direction to take for my question.
I've decided to just continue using the CFW the same way I am doing now.
I'm sorry if I've wasted anyone's time with this silly post. There are also so many people saying so many different things, I dunno what to really do.
But thank you all for helping. It's much appreciated.
