So I bricked while trying to install CBHC, but i still have BOTW on a usb drive. Would it be possible to extract my save game in any way?

Here's the real question. In whatever guide you followed before you bricked please tell me you have a nand backup.

I have a second wii u minus the gamepad. I was using it when 5.3.2 was the latest that was hackable. I spoofed it to 5.5.1 when it was needed for certain things, then updated to the real 5.5.1. considering all cbhc bricks, I might put it up on here. I'd include all the cables (including hdmi), just minus the game pad. I'm not sure how much a system by itself is worth though. I need to make room for the inevitable switch purchase. I actually both wii u's plugged in. the system is as if it had never been hacked (never did the virtual wii on that system either).

I think u only need the otp actually. that's according to @EyeKey who made the NAND backup tools.

one thing I don't hear discussed really ever is installing a fake ticket to a game, then deleting the game and installing a legit ticket while on cfw. it will fail install on legit firmware, but it will install correctly on cfw even if bought. this is due to the fake ticket being scanned first. this will cause a brick with cbhc. I had to delete a fake ticket that I had accidentally installed for a game I had bought. it would fail install from the eshop if not on cfw. there may be a tutorial about this; if not, there should be. I was thinking about writing one, but I couldn't recall the byte size of eshop versus retail games since they're different. they should be one of two sizes iirc. I don't have any of my wii u tutorials on here or my listing of wup commands if u ever wanted to use that. that's actually how I determined the usb naming process which doesn't seem to matter based on port. it's just whatever is scanned first apparently. helpful since ftpii everywhere only scans usb1, not usb2 from my experience.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I forgot to mention - deleting the game doesn't delete the fake ticket either.

I think i do. But the the file sizes seem really small.

mlc.full.img is 573,400 kb
otp.bin is 1 kb
seeprom.bin is 1kb
slc.full.img is 524,288 kb
Slcmpt.full.img is 524,288 kb

all three r wrong. the mlc should be much larger. the slc and slcmpt should be 540,672 apiece. if u used the fw.img method to back them up, u'll need to use EyeKey's tools to fix them. that size does sound about right for unfixed partitions. I think they're 512MB unfixed and 528MB fixed. the otp and seeprom r correct.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

btw, the mlc should be in the millions KB-wise. it will be different if u have an 8GB system or a 32GB system. my 32GB system is 30,535,680 KBs. however, I think it's unimportant when fixing a NAND flash since it's the flash storage. the other two partitions can be fixed with EyeKey's tools, and u don't need the system to do it. however, afaik, only the otp is important. EyeKey has created a tool specifically to fix cbhc bricks, so as long as u have the otp you're okay.

not sure how much they're worth, but I was thinking $80. it has nothing hacked on it since I was using the web exploit. I turned it on earlier today to check all connections to my new tv. it works like new. :) it's also the black 32GB version. I just checked on ebay, and came up with a round number based on how much people were asking/selling for.

Ill try it, what are the odds of unbricking?

mind u, I bought it for $150 during the 5.3.2 days.

I don't know the specifics about the unbricking process since I've never bricked despite using cbhc daily. I'm playing the system right now in fact. u do need to know how to solder though, so if u don't know how, I'd send it to someone. perhaps, @Leeful . I don't know if he fixes consoles, but he's the one who discovered the mistakes of the fw.img NAND backup.

I'll PM him.

Actually I am finally writing the tool that I promised awhile ago. If you have the otp and the seeprom you will be able to extract the save file soon.
