My guess would be frankenfirmware or modified home menu. I never had issues updating any console. Maybe someone else more knowledgeable about the issue can help.

I just figured it out. I had the access to the site that permits Nintendo's updates blocked on my router so that my Wii U firmware wouldn't be updated automatically. Problem solved! That problem at least... Now we'll see if Freeshop will work.

My 2 cents is that it could be because you're on 11.0. I don't think many people are on older firmware. I know there are some on 11.2 because of Brickway. Since NTR streaming and homebrew works on 11.4, there's no real reason to be on older firmware for most people. But there's also no reason to update other than online play since Nintendo really hasn't added anything to their firmware since 9.6.
FYI, You can also tag TuxSH for Luma3DS stuff since he works on it a lot.

It was covered a while back. The domain name expired. I guess there was issues with getting it renewed so the person just moved it to a new domain.

If you don't know what's changed you can always look at the commit history on github.
