How can I delete all the fakes badges that I thought I would use?
I really want to delete them.
Pressing L+R+X+Y while the app start will delete all your badge data.
After that you can go to the Badge Arcade to rebuild the ones you got there, clean your Badges folder with only the ones you want, and reinstall them like you did the first time with GYTB.

EDIT: It seems that you only need to go to the Badge Arcade help desk to clean your badge data and also rebuild it. No need for the 1st step (the key combo). I'm used to doing that since I can't access the Badge Arcade anymore...

Is there a way to link badges to game apps. like freeshop? I know how to link them to system settings and and eshop. But I want to use some of them to launch games I have installed.

I just tried using GYTB (the .3dsx version) and it isn't working on 11.4 with Luma 8.0 and Rosalina. Perhaps it is related to what is described below?

@zoogie Does the .3dsx file need to be hex edited again for the 11.4 firmware, and do the values in the xml need to be changed?

For what it's worth, the cia version of GYTB is working fine, but I'm trying to run as much homebrew as possible with Rosalina instead of with a cia.

If anyone wants to fix the .3dsx version to work with the latest firm, just do the following simple changes:

Hex edit the 3dsx file - 0x407F0: 75 -> 61

And change the .xml file to the following:
<targets selectable="false">
<title mediatype="0">0004001000021000</title>
<title mediatype="0">0004001000022000</title>
<title mediatype="0">0004001000020000</title>
<title mediatype="0">0004001000027000</title>
<title mediatype="0">0004001000026000</title>
<title mediatype="0">0004001000028000</title>
</targets>

A summery of what's happening here. This is changing the requested service from act:u to act:a which also has support for ACTU_GetAccountDataBlock, which is needed by this program. Act:a is conveniently included in System Settings and that is the app called in the above XML in various regions. This gets GYTB past the hurdle of taking over Badge Arcade or needing cfw to get the necessary service permissions. Hope this helps some of you elf monsters out. :)

edit: i guess i have some sympathy for the non-dyi crowd. attached.

How do I uninstall badges? I removed some of my PNG/whatever the badges format were, added them back plus some new ones, but when I run GYTB I get an exception error mid-way when installing.

can I use this without arm9?
Everyone has arm9... Anyway, as long as you have access to the Homebrew Launcher, you should be able to use it just fine =)

With Rosalina, you have to patch the "SM" process. Just open the Rosalina menu, and select: Process patches menu... > Patch SM for the service checks.

Quick summary:
New Homebrew Laucher doesn't support launching 3dsx applications under a another application.
In this case, it would first look for Nintendo Badge Arcade, and then, if it doesn't find that, it would look for the E-Shop.
It tries to run the 3dsx application under those other applications because they have the required permissions to use the "act:a" service. (which is required to obtain your NNID number)
By patching the SM service checks, you are essentially bypassing those permissions, allowing you to use any service (including "act:a") without a problem.

I hope that clears things up!

I ment am I able to use this with boot9strap as the cia ver because it always crashes at the end with something to do with not having a arm9 file
the .3dsx version doesnt start dumping badges it says it cannot find my nnid which I do have set up and I am not banned
the cia version dumps all my badges and previews the custom ones on screen, after that it gives me a stackdump error
I have 997 badges in the folder including the dumped ones, I tried everything with badge arcade, I refreshed my badge box, I deleted badge arcade, but still nothing is fixing it

You just need a badges folder on the root of your SD card, and the images of the badges you want to inject. I just did that, and it worked just fine. But if you still get that error, could you please send a screenshot of it?

I just installed it today on my new 2DS and all I get is this screen error, I have a NNID so dunno what's the problem. :huh:

Yeah, it seems that 11.5 update or new Luma update kills GYTB. I was trying to update my badges and I get same error.
It it easy to fix tho - just patch SM and FS in Rosalina Menu, load badges on your menu and in bagdes menu and run app again.

Why does GYTB get stuck saying "Attempting to write extdata..."?

Is it actually writing the massive amount of Badges I have or is it just stuck not doing anything? It worked once when I tried it with a little less badges but dk what happens now.
Btw i use oot3dhax 11.5 (it does work)

The pre-built version in .CIA format that is in GitHub is the lastest version (more updated)? And... Which is the limit for badges in 3DS?
