Hacking OK been away for a month or two.. things move fast, need update suggestions

Basically had a 10.7 3ds. Modded it with A9hl and Luma. Upgraded to 11.3 after install.
Luma no longer updates. Did some reading I need to get rid of a9xl and install something new (bootstrap9)?
Is there a guide or thread dedicated to those of us who are have been away for a bit of what we need to update to be up to date?
Also once everything is updated to latest firmware and such, can I safely update to 11.xx WHATEVER the latest official FW is or will my n3ds get banned?

Updating to 11.4 on an already B9S/A9LH'ed system is safe.

you can update to the latest firmware, just turn off everything having to do with sending stuff to nintendo.

There have been reports of a wave of bans being handed out to CFW users by Nintendo. To protect yourself, please do the following steps before starting this guide:

1. Go to System Settings, then “Internet Settings”, then “SpotPass”, then “Sending of System Information”
2. Disable the “Sending of System Information” option
3. Exit the System Settings
4. Go to your Friend’s List (the Face Icon in the top row of your Home Menu)
   • If you receive an error and are kicked out of the menu, the Friend’s List setting is already disabled
5. Go to the Friend’s List settings, then “Friend Notification Settings”, then “Show friends what you’re playing”
6. Disable the “Show friends what you’re playing” option
7. Exit your Friend’s List
