So some clever person added a wifi connection without the DNS blocked, and I think Zelda game update downloaded in the background.

Now it won't start without me doing the update, even if I delete all internet connections etc..

I'm using external HDD and installed via WupInstaller.

Is it possible to delete the update somehow? (still have the infinite arrow glitch).
Mainly I don't want to lose my save..

Just use a normal DNS server and it'll update the game. After that switch back to the protected servers. I doubt a System Firmware Update will get pushed while you spend the entire 5 minutes it'll take to download the update for Zelda.

You can't start zelda BOTW without the update, you need to update.

You can use https://github.com/joffnerd/botw-trainer to cheat, even on 1.2.0 (so... infinite arrow again xD).

Thanks makes sense, or could I download latest update v80 from WiiU USB Helper and install via WupInstaller to be safe? Or could this cause an issue?

OK so def no way to remove the update :( but yes I know about the trainer I've used it on a USB stick version of the game, a pain loading tcpgecko each time but still interesting..

Not each time... you can set x999 for the arrow slot.

OK, another solution!!
Buy the disc version of the game. It includes the v1.0 update inside!

edit: or find on the Internet the update 1.1 or 1.0 or what you want, and install it with wupinstaller...

You can remove update in System Settings->Data Management
Then install version of your liking via Wup Installer

Wii U USB helper allows you to select updates so...

My mate got into this state a few months back.

His issue was that he had installed the dlc ticket through WUP, and therefore the official update method wouldn't work over his fake signed files leaving him stuck with not being able to update and not being able to start the game from USB.

Simply delete any installed updates and queued updates, download the latest update for zelda via NUSgrabber and install via wup installer as per usual.

Run via haxchiFW or mocha etc if you have sig patched anything.

You won't lose your save.

Sounds like a plan thanks :)

I deleted the update from data management, but it still won't let me start the game without an update. Looks like an update is on the cards, I'm assuming it must be the latest version too..not too much of a big deal i guess.

Thanks KiiWii I think I will need to update to latest version via WupInstaller (i download using WiiU USB Helper though..). I would love the new DLC especially the map update to trace Links progress, but not sure I want to be loading Mocha CFW each time. If DLC is installed and i don't load Mocha CFW first, what happens in game?

you need at least the 1.0.0 update. if you've already got an update you can bypass the update-nag by launching the game with system config tool

I'm sure I was on 1.0.1, I can't check now as it won't launch. It's not a nag screen anymore, it won't let me ignore the update and blocks me from launching the game.

Not used system config tool before, any tips? Looks like it's installed via WupInstaller to the NAND, not sure of risks/advantages?
