There's been speculation that players would be able to unban themselves, as long as for the time being they used a public friend code seed, and eventually replace it with the regular one you have after it ends.

This would bypass the risk of being banned interly

However I don't know what exact files to backup, I backed up local friend code seed - b, and nothing else. What else would be a good idea to make a backup of?

Moveable.sed not sure if that's how it's spelt but similar enough

I just went ahead and backed up:
nnid.save
moveableseed.bin
Frienccodeseed_B.bin
And another file I forgot, I think it was secure info.

I think removing my nnid by doing a sys format would unlink my chances of getting my other consoles banned permeantly... And moving (temporailly) to another friend code seed.bin would get that one banned instead of mine, so once all the tensions end with the bans I could put it back on my 3DS and be good to go, and my nnid.

Think its a good idea?

To me it sounds overkill - NNIDs have nothing to do with bans from online multiplayer, and if they really wanted to crack you down, they could always ban your MAC (part of the wifi card) or DeviceID (part of the OTP, thus of the motherboard)

As for what to backup -- your whole nand :)

There's no guarantee that they don't already have your current one in a list waiting to be banned.

Sorry if I sounded concerned about it, I have a Nintendo Switch and I thought that would tie in with being banned on the 3ds (since my nnid is linked to the two consoles.)

Theoretically I could change it so they ban the false friend code and not the real one. I haven't been banned yet surprisingly and I have been on mine since this week.
I'd like to do it for a procausion against the actual problem. Because I have been online (But always having both Spotpass settings turned off.)

Its funny because I have never had spotpass on in my whole 3DS's life and it never has effected me (yet).

Switch doesn't even have NNIDs...
3DS traditional shop account != 3DS multiplayer identity != NNID (3DS, WiiU, Miiverse) != Nintendo Account (new club nintendo and switch) account != Pokemon Go/PGL account :)
Nintendo logic :) :)

I haven't touched it in awhile, so my bad.
Ah screw it, maybe someone will find a way to bypass the ban inertly. There's no escaping the ban like everyone's said it will just come and go, and no one knows enough information to determine anything yet.
I could be completely fine, (or not) Who knows, but I will probably just buy a 2DS for kicks if that does happen and look for a solution for the one I use.

If you do not need to play online, and with specific friends (friendcodes) even if you get banned you care little about it, no?

As far as backups go, keep as much as you can, as you ignore yet what will prove essential in the future, and try and keep a full state of your device before CFW, for emergency rollback.
