Homebrew Cannot inject any saves on gba/VC

Got boot9strap setup , 11,4 sysnand n3ds xl

Using godmode9 any save i try to inject is corrupt(those are my backup save) every time i try to inject gba i get that i cant because file too big ex: 64kb over 32kb wont work even trying to overwrite with exact seems to not working for me i dont know what im doing wrong i keep trying to inject my saves since last week and im getting pretty mad atm need help

i am very upset because my 3ds erased all data itself when i was with al9h and i lost approx 32 completed save game included all zelda games sadly...i wish to inject all VC ,snes and gba too if possible thanks!

Just to double check. When you install the GBA VC game to your system, before you attempt to inject/restore your save, did you start the game at least once? If not, there ya go.

Inject and dump GBA VC saves: Look for a file called gbavc.sav inside the S: drive. Keep in mind that you need to start the specific GBA game on your console before dumping / injecting the save.

Dont you think? Im not that stupid i follow guide before attempting something open the game then close and reboot to godmode9.

Edit: i imported the save from gba vc even tried it on vba emulator work perfectly

I do think, often. Most of the errors/issues from users here are PEBKAC from not reading directions. I'm assuming you tested your save backups and know that they indeed do work and aren't invalid?

If you'd like, you can send me a sav file and let me know the game. I can test it over here.

I guess it'd be stupid to ask if you tried D9WIP/HG9, even though it /should/ be the same method in both.

I'd ask this: Open a gba game, create a save. Then retry. If not still, try extracting the save. Does that succeed?

Yeah importing work it is zelda alttp four sword (palette change edition), tried with minish cap too wont work and even my other vc like gb ,gbc and snes cant seem to detect or just corrupt my saves files...but i can inject them for gba it is like i am denied from overwriting it with overweight kb or equal to the file gbavc.sav

You meant exporting works, right? I still stand by my offer to help you out if you want to send me one of your sav files. I'd have to find the exact game as well. Assuming I'll find it on that iso site.

U cannot and i dont share my save but just try with minish cap the one i got is ambassador one from eshop legit but u can find on that iso site yeah for the save just find any ( google zelda minish cap save) and test if it send me if it work for you il test back, oh and i tested decrypt and other iv been trying to inject a old save game since last years for gba no one seems to works. Well for me lol

I actually have ambassadors so that works out perfectly. I shall test this for you and report back! I assume your save is gba.sav format and not some emulator format that was poorly converted?

Well it seems it is not even my saves for minish cap it is a empty files but i didnt tried to inject it so it mean i lost my 100% save .....im trying for zelda alttp four sword for a while because i want to do riddle quest and only way is injecting save or bulding cheat engine on gba vc(can do that easy)

Back to problem please and if u got 100% minish cap saved named Link im in XD i know im close to inject gba save but im stuck now

You know, I noticed the save inject/extract methods do not work with ambassador games, I attempted this when I tried to move my savefile from Ambassador Yoshi's Island to an injected one (due to the color and ghosting), but I couldn't manage to extract a working copy, the save didn't work on an emulator either (which it should). When I attempted the same thing with Golden Sun (from injected CIA to injected CIA + color + ghosting) it worked perfectly.

So yeah, something's up with Ambassador games.

PD: I might not remember this correctly, but I think when I extracted the save files from both Yoshi Island games, both game had different sized saves.

It works just fine. You just have to do a little research. For LTTP save, you have to trim it to 32KB. You need to find a GBA sav trimmer (M3 might still have one online) or grab the trimmed save file off of that iso site. There's a thread with the usa version of LTTP:FS with mode7/intro/voices removed, and your save file (end of game), trimmed to 32KB.

For Minish Cap, https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-bring-your-wiiu-gba-saves-to-3ds-gba-vc.464919/ scroll down to Edit3 and there will be a program to use to reverse the bytes.
