Turning off the VSync and audio sync greatly enhance the fps, but it's actually too much. I get about 90-100fps which is just too much to handle. I don't know a whole lot about the settings in the retroarch emulators, so does anyone know of a way to set a cap (like 60fps) on there? That way I can always have smooth playing.

Try messing around with the Refresh Rate and Frame Delay settings. Post back if you find a combo that works.

I wasn't able to get a cap on it with those specific tweaks. But I think I'll be able to get by with the settings I have. I'm mainly playing Fire Emblem and FF Tactics, so I think I'll be fine. Thanks for the tip though.

If you're on New 3DS, playing on the official virtual console will net you speeds closer to an actual GBA!

I'd prefer not to go through the eShop because I don't want to have to pay for the games I already own. I have the GBA cartridges, but I just want them all to be in one place (my N3DS to be exact).
