Derrek has given some clearer instructions on how to use SigHax Installer.

Do not try this without a Hardmod!
  1. Copy "arm9loaderhax.bin" onto your SD card
  2. Copy a chainloader firm (such as B9S) to the root of your sd card and rename it "target_firm.bin"
  3. Put it back into your 3ds
  4. Press A a bunch of times
  5. SigHax has been installed
As of writing this,
  • 11 out of 18 users have bricked from using SigHax Installer 0.1
  • 9 out of 21 users have bricked from using SigHax Installer 0.2
  • 2 out of 460 users have bricked from using SafeBS9Installer
The obvious solution is to just use 3ds.guide. Sighax.com is in beta, it has a rushed release. It shouldn't have been released early, which was the cause of these bricks.

"But the bricks were probably caused due to user error, they wouldn't release something which was unfinished!"
They were not caused from user error. Having seen the installer, there is very little room for user error.
This is wrong, do not follow this guide, or you will brick!
  1. Copy "arm9loaderhax.bin" onto your SD card
  2. Copy "sighax_installer.bin" onto your SD card
  3. Rename "sighax_installer.bin" to "target_firm.bin"
  4. Put it back into your 3ds
  5. Turn your 3ds on
  6. Press A a bunch of times
  7. SigHax has been installed/Your 3ds has been bricked
I fail to see how user error could be made. The only thing I can think of is if you forgot to rename sighax_installer.bin, or had a file in the wrong place, in which case it wouldn't make any changes to the nand at all. There is no way to brick from user error with sighax.com or 3ds.guide. The sighax installer will cause bricks!

If you bricked using SigHax Installer 0.1, please answer this poll.

If you bricked using SigHax Installer 0.2, please answer this poll

Do not use sighax.com!

Considering these are unknown errors, I am going to have to agree with not using it. Bricks aren't something news, but it's extremely worrisome when they are caused by unknown reasons.
And in this quantity, 8/14 with SigHax Installer 0.1, 3/4 with SigHax Installer 0.2.

USER ERROR
I've explained that in the OP, there's no chance of user error.

Sooo 3ds.guide doesn't use sighax and 3ds.guide is safe? I assume soon sighax will be implemented when it's safe? What's the difference between the two though.

Sighax installs the firm, Boot9Strap boots firm from SD. making it flexible

Ah alright.
And yes, but my point is there's a less than 1% chance of bricking when using B9S, and 11 out of 18 people who installed SigHax bricked.
That's because B9S injects into boot process and boots from SDCard, Sighax boots changed firmware. That's a big difference if you ask me.

For some, it's worth it. It's 100% true CFW and some might risk it, some might not.
But once it's installed, no reverting back.
The problem I see with it is what you just said: no reverting back. Now, you can update the CFW by just reinstalling sighax, but each time that is a risk.
