Troubleshooting an N64 cart?

probably just needs a clean if it was working fine with the gameshark

test other games on your system to make sure its not a issue with the system, its possible the gameshark pcb is slightly thicker and caused the cart connector to be loosened up so its no making as good a connection

No blowing on the cart, use isopropyl alcohol the highest percentage you can find (For me that's 91%) and use either cotton pads or ear cleaners to wipe down the pins. Afterwards I would get an eraser, not the pink kind because it can be too abrasive on pins but the white type used by artist and it's soft. Rub down the pins with the eraser, you may need to take apart the cart to reach the pins. Don't use anything else to get rid of the Eraser debris and that should be it. Should look factory new after that.

another common issue on N64 games is traces being damaged by the plastic guard, if all else fails you can open up the game and check for any damage to the traces

If that was the case, this would likely be affecting all n64 games. Is it?
