I can't seem to figure this thing out I have a black icon on the homescreen on sysnand and can't fgiure otu what title it'd be.

It also _only_ shows up with cfw(for some unknown reason.)

edit: things that have black box for icon in fbi.
title id
0040030000009002
product code
ctr-n-hcse

also clicking home menu manual causes menuhax to load and hang.

luma, and I'm really tempted to say fuck it and go back to a super old one as it's no longer wanting to work with me really.

I mean it could just be a bad ticket, which I heard tiksweep could help with (haven't used it personally). Have you tried seeing what happens if you launch the icon?

Also, I'd recommend switching to A9LH using 3ds.guide though. Menuhax is outdated and I don't see why people would still use it, unless they were curious about it ig. It gives better brick protection than an emuNAND, so...

Up to you though, obviously.

a9lh has a chance of bricking my system so like hell am I going to use it. Plus emunand is solely for running newer games, sysnand is for dsiware emunand for everything else.

What do you mean "has a chance of bricking it"? I mean so does menuhax iirc. The chances of A9LH bricking are next none really, if you follow the guide correctly.

Also yea that's how I use my emuNAND personally. I mean it's obselete vecause you can have sysNAND on the highest version without much risk if you have A9LH and Luma, but I mean...

you can't brick from menuhax it's literally impossible. It's just a theme file, want to go back to stock? Just remove the sd card and it's as if nothing at all had happened.

Oh okay, didn't know that bricking with Menuhax was impossible.

Again, up to you if you wanna stay on Menuhax, then go ahead, was just a suggestion.

As I mentioned in the other thread: Someone could write an ARM9 payload that wipes the FIRM partition. Load that in MenuHax on 9.2, and you brick.

So no, bricking is not impossible with MenuHax.

It's also possible for Nintendo to add a new function to a system menu update that causes EmuNAND updates to write to SysNAND instead. They just have to work around the EmuNAND patching in the CFW.

supposedly someone else says it's not impossible but considering that I get nervous messing with the health & safety app until a9lh is being used by people for at least 2+yrs after being declared completely stable I am avoiding it. I am someone who is very risk avese when it comes to stuff I own. I also prefer older (to me morestable) software.
I am still using GNOME2 style UI on linux and at the time when it was about to be destroyed I was going to just not update to avoid having to give it up. I am still using the same exact theme+background+icon set from ~2008.

Ok cool, but like, 2 years is a bit excessive imo. Almost no one uses menuhax anymore, just because A9LH is so unlikely to brick during installation and provides better brick protection to the point where Menuhax just isn't really used anymore.

You can stay on older software if you want tho, which I would actually recommend if you genuinely feel as if A9LH is unstable. If you're happy with how your 3DS is now, then you don't have to change anything about it, I suppose.

Now you just need to hide it in a file named freeShop using menuhax no cfw needed.bin

It's is SOO simple now, like you don't know how much simple it is. Have you even read through the guide?

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
