Hardware Thinking about upgrading from Wii -> Wii U

I was thinking about selling my Wii, and upgrading to a Wii U to play all the old Wii content, and all the new Wii U content.

I mainly use it for Homebrew and backup loaders so upgrading to a new console that will eventually receive CTGP, more Splatoon content, and online additions would be awesome to see.

The only downside is, I'm concerned about upgrading for a few reasons
1. Does Wii Virtual Console have online support on Wii U,
2. Is the Wii U GC Compatible
3. Is Project M, CTGP Wii, and Wii games compatible via on the Wii Virtual Console & with a backup loader.
4. Are there back up's for Wii U Games at the moment.

1. No idea.
2. Yes, if you hack vWii and install Nintendont.
Although you need a controller like the U Pro controller. Gamepad can't be used.
3. Yes.
4. USB helper from Hikari06 will help you out with that.

for #1 you can't play VC online, neither in wii u mode or vwii.

Bummer, you can still have online in the regular Wii version of Mario Kart Wii & some other games.

Guess I will keep my Wii for now, and not sell it. Not worth upgrading if you can't have backwards compatible online play on wii games

I thought you meant online play for actual virtual console (as in snes, nes, gba)
iirc you can play online in vWii.

Oh I see, my bad.
In that case I take it back, really recommend it 10/10 ign.

just keep the wii. its better to have more then one way to play wii games. i have my hacked lanuch wii. i never hacked the wii U vwii. was no point to. oh and you can still play goldeneye wii online on the official servers. Im Captain N on there. if you log on ill be rapping noobs lol
