softmodded xbox stopped ftping

okay so yesterday I upgraded my xbox with a 1tb wd blue.
I spent today transfering my game collection to the new hat drive via ftp.
everything was going fine, right up until I swapped the evox dash files with those of unleashedx.
it worked how I wanted it to, but upon trying to ftp to the xbox it was a no go.

from the beginning evox was the only dash I could get to ftp. Which led me to believe the ftp ability was configured to the softmof installed dash.
in the cx ftp tool I get a timeout error #100060.
I managed to ping the xbox once since the issue started but cannot replicate that.

the only way I can move files to the xbox is through the memory usb adapter.
this has issues in that unleashedx file manager does not let u specify which folder you can copy and move files to. It all goes to the c drive.

in my efforts to fix this issue I deleted my e drives backup location within the dash folder.

right now I want to uninstall the softmod and reinstall unleashx as the base dash and check for ftp ability.

will this go well given all the variables to my situation?
does anyone know how to fix the ftp?
it cant be a hdd issue as its only 1 day old and is running with the data to 80 pin ide.

please help :/

Some dashes have ftp included, some do not.
Some have it activated out of the box, some do not.
Also, the configuration needs to be done for each dash seperately.

Have you looked at the settings, yet?

Try UnleashX and WinSCP.

UnleashX shouldn't have any problems.
Filezilla is the best choice in FTP clients.

back when I was still able to ping the xbox it was saying connection refused

It's been a while since I've used UnleashX, but I think you have to enable the FTP server somewhere in the settings. I don't remember ever editing a config file manually for it though.

I use XBMC4Xbox as my dash. It has an embedded FTP server you can enable.

I know it sounds stupid, but are you sure your network settings are right? You and your xbox are on the same subnet and you're sure your xbox's IP hasn't changed?

UnleashX has ftp activated permanently but maybe he didn't turn on DHCP?

Yeah, unleashx does have a start ftp area, but as far as I can tell that in my version of the dash it doesn't work. The console shows it's ip right up until I click on the restart network button in the same area. then it displays an ip of 0.0.0.0. Neither the stop IP, start IP, or reset IP buttons seem to work. But that shouldn't matter as I have tried XBMC and evox again and they also don't work.

You didn't turn on DHCP or assigned a static ip.

I have done that. multiple times. on multiple dashes. I can see the ethernet connection on my pc, but it's like the two just won't talk to each other.

Do you have the XBOX connected to a router or directly to the pc?

Do you have your xbox connected to your router, or are you using a network cable directly between your Xbox and PC?

If it's connected to your router, you should enable DHCP and it should get an assigned IP address from the router.

If it's connected directly to your PC, you will either need to set up ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), or assign both your xbox and your PC a static IP address and subnet mask.

I removed the ndure mod, then remodded the console with unleash x as dash.
Then hooked it all up, and it worked.
