[UPDATE] Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX found on e-Shop servers

A Twitter user named SciresM has made an interesting discovery: Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga DX has popped up in the 3DS's e-Shop database. Absolutely nothing other than that is known at this time.

EDIT: And this time he's got the icons!

They should at least bring it over to the Switch, though if they implement dual-screen for it, it would make it harder to port, imo.
Yeah, they should bring it to a new console with a really small user base and ignore the current (yet old) platform which happens to has the biggest user base yet. /s

I think this is a sort of "Fire Emblem Echoes" thing. Chances are, Nintendo will be using the engine for Dream Team as a basis for this game, which is already established on the 3DS.

Most likely. It seems like Alphadream is doing this due to how poorly paper jam sold compared to dream team.

How else do you plan to sell a new device? Games sell hardware. When 3DS first started out, the games weren't really there, and sales were poor. They went and cut the system's price by $80 to build incentive, but it wasn't until games like SM3DL came that people began to really buy the system. So to me, the idea that they should focus only on the older platform with the bigger install base than to also put effort into the newer platform to help build its install base that's meant to benefit them further into the future sounds like poor business.

Screw Paper Mario! This was the series that got me into Mario RPG!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I really want this to happen! To celebrate, I'm gonna go play Superstar Saga again!
Hey hey hey, paper mario is an rpg classic to the whole mario rpg franchise (talking about the first two of course).
Although I do enjoy the Mario & Luigi series much better for its gameplay, adventure and story.

The mario & luigi franchise is not a system seller. Alphadream seems to not be that good when it comes to new platforms, since the dream team engine and in game models were outsourced to another devs. Making a port for the switch means more effort, time and money wasted to a console who doesn't have enough potential consumers.

They still plan to support 3DS until at least into 2018. (Why else are they making a new 2DS XL?)
This is likely to be a simple remake using Dream Team's engine anyways.
Screw Paper Mario!
I would've loved a Paper Mario 64 port.

Super Mario RPG is a classic as well. I would like to see a remake of that on the Switch.

While I had fun with the Paper Mario series, I didn't like it as much as the Mario & Luigi series. Don't get me wrong, I do like all of the games, just the M&L series more.

I would've loved a Paper Mario 64 remake for the Switch.
Fixed!
