I really don't see Nintendo doing a major internal hardware revision with this thing.

Nintendo never did so with:
- 3DS XL
- 2DS
- New 3DS
- New 3DS XL

What makes New 2DS XL so special? The 3DS is nearly 7 years old, what would make them want to rewrite BOOTROM? Patching the potential of an exploit that could very well be done on EVERY other 3DS model at will, be it via software AND hardware?

I think at the VERY least, it'll have 11.4. For sure. Hardware revision to patch SigHax... eh, I sincerely doubt it.

Sorry, but by definition New 3DS/XL compared to older ones had a hardware revision.

There's some good and bad things here. The bad being the awkward speaker and rear camera positions, and the good being an easy to access microSD card slot, which is presumably behind the flap next to the game card slot, and the no longer raised touch screen, so maybe we can get away without a top screen protector. I have also always disliked the front power button, though perhaps there might not be a screen lottery.

Honestly, if the hinge is nice and the speakers aren't too bad I might make it my main 3DS console.

They will fix sighax and arm9loaderhax with a hardware revision, they can easily do this. Firm0 size check and better rsa signature checks.
They will fix gspwn too probably, it's a hardware flaw too.
And they will force the system to run on an newer firmware (no 11.2 or 9.2 or even 2.1 downgrading)...
I wouldn't buy it.

A9lh definitely, but sighax is going to be a close call. Hardware is usually finalized many many months before production and release. The switch hardware was finalized at least 9 months before release, for instance.

Gspwn can't totally be fixed because old software has to be able to run on it.

I could buy one if they do what they usually do at game.es and similar that they make you a discount if you hand over any previous model
