Would you like to use your "old" Controllers?

I dunno how it was in the wii u scene, but i think there was it possible, but only with backup loaders right?

Since backup loaders are definitely far away - would it be somehow possible to still hook the old controllers up on the switch?

I just played Bomberman and the buttons are way too small, but on the wiimote it would be possible to still play, the pro controller and the gc controller in another league ;)

Why do people ask stupid questions when the switch isn't even hacked, like how are we even supposed to know if it's possible when we don't even have kernel access?

Why do people post stupid remarks when they're not even necessary?

It is possible period
But the condition for that is kernel access

That's it, the switch have a full usb port able to transmit data as input and output so
with some work it IS possible to plug literally anything into that
that could go from gamepads to hardrives to a printer or even a graphic tablet if you are willing to put enough work into it and write your own drivers

I quite hate it when people dismiss questions as "stupid". I remember being slammed as a retard when asking about 3 years ago "In theory would it be possible to natively run DS games on 3DS from SD Card" but now such thing is a reality.

And to answer OPs question, like others have said, in theory yes since the Switch uses bluetooth. But it'll probably take a while though.

And FYI, such thing has already been done with the Wii (not wireless though). If you use the homebrew app nintendont, you can actually use a wide range of controllers plugged into the USB ports plug and play.

So there is hope :)

Sometimes you just gotta move on.

Fuck that! Wii Remotes 4 lyfe! Wii Remotes and GameCube Controllers are still equal in my number one spot for best controllers of all time. My biggest gripe with the Wii U GamePad, the classic/pro controllers and the JoyCons is that they're too damn similar to the PS/360 controllers.

The issue with both the wii remote and gamecube controller is that they don't have enough buttons to play a modern video game. I love the GC controller, but I think you're the first person that I've heard say the wii remote is the best controller ever made. For me the best controller ever made needs at least enough buttons to play some 2006 3rd party games without devolving into gimmicky motion controls.

That'll definitely be possible down the line!
For now I'm using 8bitdo adapter to hook my old ps3 controller (mostly for Fifa 19 cuz I cannot afford to get my pro controller damaged)
