Most people find a dpad needed for any 2d indie, and you can expect the switch to have a lot of 2d indies.

Playing Shovel Knight or just any 2D platformer with an analogue stick is pretty shit.

Bomberman is another one on the Switch, while it's a mediocre game it's not too bad using a d-pad. The Switch Pro Controller is usable on the PC as well without any extra equipment.

yeah even most indie games nowadays on ps4,xb1 and even on wiiu wouldnt have options to use the dpad over the joystick , only some rare ones here and there.

the neogeo ones allow dpad and so does shovel knight. and most upcoming 2d indies will.
