Gaming Best shrine finding tip!

If this was a 2d zelda game, the shrine locating beacon would be foolproof, but since it's a massive 3d world with huge height elevation, rock overhangs, trees, many ways to hide a shrine, it's not always so simple to find them. Then lo and behold, the game scrolled a tip on the loading screen that says if you are near a shrine, wolf link will help lead you to it. On top of wolf link's great fighting prowess (which evens the odds vs some nasty gangs of enemies), I think this shrine sniffing may make the wolf link amiibo the most useful one in the game! anyway just thought I'd share, I was playing the game for over a week before I stumbled into this bit of info.

Another tip I heard was to look for circling birds, they allegedly hover over shrines.

if you research these forums, there is a method for moving some data onto the wolf link amiibo from twilight princess, that gets you 20 hearts, without achieving high in the cave of shadows or whatever (which I've never even been in). I pulled it off.

You can backup your amiibo, edit the amount of hearts, then reflash that data back onto the retail amiibo using Tagmo. The only caveat being is you need to actually initialize the amiibo on a wii U and play through the first 6 levels of the dungeon in order to save that info on the amiibo before you can edit it.

If you are talking about NTAG215 cards or stickers or the N2Elite/Namiio then what I said above does not apply.

For Tagmo, you need an android phone with NFC capability.

shrine 101

1. climb the highest mountain you can see and look for orange glows than tag them.
2. the hidden ones are a lot harder to find from up high they are just an orange circle pad so if you see one of them glide down over to it. than either kass will be there to give you a clue OR there will always be a book nearby with notes telling you how to unlock it. the hidden shrines are the most annoying since you usually have to do cryptic or crazy shit (crowned beast) as well as be there at certain times or use shadows to unlock them.
3. if your running through the filed and hear an accordion track down the sound kass will be there to give you a clue on how to unlock the hidden shrine.
4. now comes the hard parts finding the ones INSIDE shit. you'll run up to the spot and your beacon just stops...so where's the shrine? depending where you are it could be in several places usually either above or below you. so are you on a high mountain than the shrine is below you look for some rocks that can be blown up they can be in front of a cliff face or even on the side of it. if your on the ground than the shrine is above you so start climbing.
5. sometimes the shrines are behind a stone door you'll have to figure out how to open this door usually involves boulders or huge snow balls.

that's all i can think of for now.

It rains constantly in Zelda so the ones in the cliffs are difficult to find and get to. Glad I got all of them now

I upgraded my Shrine detector, and I use it to look for shrines I can't see. If I don't see it on the X and Y axis, I look through the Z axis.

i mean so far story wise it is not really pointing me to find shrines (just in the begining i had to go to 4 shrines.)

you get some clothes when you clear all the Shrines, and a secret ending if you 100% the game.

Source? I can't find anything about a secret ending after 100%'ing the game. Only the secret ending you get after finding all the memories.

I think that best suggestion to find shrines without external help. amiibos, or online guides. is to update the shrine locator which increases the signal. like others suggested you can climb the highest points and tag them. you could also make a list of all the shrines and their location in the general area, and checked them off as you find them. This will help you avoid the frustration of trying to figure out which shrine you are missing.
