@ByteThis I've tried to put it inside the game file itself, but it does not sound anything :( I think retroarch does not recognize .wav

invaders.zip
where did you get your samples? Get it from here. .wav should work.
http://samples.mameworld.info/ I also think you need both these zips AND the sound sample. I think you need space invaders zip and space invaders m zip. Plus the sound sample. Could be wrong tho.

@Cluster

I've made new folders to accomodate the NES Mini Skin....
I allready did the alphabet, and regular folder.... and I hope other people like them.
I also altered the original theme a little bit.... adding a lid, where the cart goes in (in our fantasy) :P
Just open the file nes.png and paste over it.

Because original sound can't be emulated I don't think

Sweet! What all did you install from that and which games? @n2k_38

@youngtune27 I tried from there and a couple of other places..I think the sound samples go with a particular mame file.. I tried about 8 diff invaders zips with diff samples in the zips..and still dont work..lol..my brain feels like some invader spaced it now..lmao !

I am seeing online in a lot of places that the samples are for pc emulation..

can't remember all the invaders games and files..lol.was too many..like an hr's worth..haha!

I am only able to get one psx game to work (Ridge Racer) flawlessly. Its the only game I have in my ripped collection which is 1,932 kb every other game is closer to 300,000 kb. So selecting any other game puts me over the limit in Hakchi2 (by just adding one more game) also ridgeracer is the only game with a image file.. the rest are .bin and .cue's...not sure what I am missing here but any help would be great.

Thanks in Advance

Bigjdoberman

I'd tested some PSX games to find out whether they could run properly or not, besides to add some of the nostalgic ones. You can also add .pbp and .bin files too. I had also GTA2 run on .zip, but others could not be played (black screen + freeze), unless they were extracted in advance.

i just think it's because originals game can't be emulated. "The original Space Invaders arcade game used a method to generate sound which is not currently emulated, so this game plays back sounds recorded from an original arcade machine. These sounds are called "samples" to the emulator." The fact that you have tried that many and it still doesn't work proper makes me never wanna try lmao

I think you're right! But you know you wanna try..curiosity is getting the better of you..lmao!

I even saw sound samples that some guy's wife recorded it on some kind of ancient recorder(wasnt a cassette recorder either) and uploaded them...didnt listen to them cause I just didnt want to..lol..

I updated to 2.14, I think I updated retroarch and the cores properly, but my SNES games won't load now. No error, just goes to a blank screen and back to the UI. Think I have it set use the 2005 core. Can anyone give me a step by step on what to do with what files? I'm sure it's something about files not being setup right.

I'm also wondering if there is any way to get Super Mario RPG, Starfox, and FF3 (US) to work properly.

First try loading the game through retroarch and if it works then your path is wrong. If it doesn't work then everything is wrong.

I need this!

this works for Donkey Kong, thanks to dezign999 for tips

for sound samples goto

bios_template.hmod\etc\libretro\system

system folder where bios go. make a fba folder or a mame2003 folder
in those folders make a samples folder
and put your zipped sounds samples in the samples folder that uses that core for that game

then re install bios h.mod

Okay... How do I do that?
i was joking when I said everything lol but do you have retro on your GUI as a game? If so launch it. If not then launch a diff game and bring up the retro menu. Load the core. Then load contents and find the game and load it.

I don't have it on the game menu, but I think I know a good place to put it. How do I put it on there, and how to I bring it up when I am in a game?
