Official hakchi2 - NES Mini very simple pimp tool

mini is on, when you sync the tv screen says hakchi. 45 secs later.. done

only need to be in fal mode to dump, flash & install mods

So, originally, when you put games on, you do the usual FEL hold down the reset stuff, right ? And then when you do it anytime after that, you don't have to press reset ?

no when adding games you literally just turn it on like normal. And it syncs. You only use fel mode when adding mods and flashing and dumping.

Has anybody been able to get Punch-Out Arcade working? I tried all the fba cores (game doesn't load), mame2000 core (distorted graphics and sound) and mame2003 core (distorted graphics) with no luck. Super Punch-Out Arcade works great with mame2003 core. Ive been able to figure everything else out by reading this entire thread and this is the only game I am having trouble with, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Has anybody been able to get Punch-Out Arcade working? I tried all the fba cores (game doesn't load), mame2000 core (distorted graphics and sound) and mame2003 core (distorted graphics) with no luck. Super Punch-Out Arcade works great with mame2003 core. Ive been able to figure everything else out by reading this entire thread and this is the only game I am having trouble with, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried and tried as well, nothing. Super Punch-Out works for me as well. I ended up dropping it, since it feels unnecessary to have Super when the original doesn't work and Super only has 5 fighters. SNES Super Punch-Out is far superior anyway, and has the same fighters.

Please can someone tell me exactly what i have to do for playing some neogeo games like metal slug? I use hakchi since the first version and i updated it with no problems. NES and SNES games work fine but i have no idea about neogeo, core, bios, command line etc. I watched some videos and tried something but i was unlucky.

Make sure you're using the correct ROM. There are ROMs that work specifically on MAME or FBA.

Hrm... finally went to update from 2.13 to 2.14b and just had the files replaced. Its flashed to the nes but oddly the hard drive space used doesnt show any change....?
Am I missing something?

Edit: Hrm... maybe it was 2.13 that showed wrong drive space usage. Just manually checked the folders.

yeah I have my roms from mame retropie setup(mame2003 romset via archive.org) , also just uninstalled and went back to original firmware and re tried the modules and the games now nothing works lol c7 all day long (for the non original nes stuff)

Hrm, what stops the NES Classic from being recognized on trying to sync? Was working fine then I went to add some n64 roms to it.. now it stays on waiting for NES mini?

Edit: Possibly bug report. I wentto check "Uninstall Modules" and noticed that Retro arch despite me not telling it to. Installed modules I wouldnt use (Like the arcade ones, etc)

I uninstalled those and then was able to upload again and sync.

Just curious, why are you running mame2003 and not mame2003_mini for metal slug 1 and metal slug 2? Is there any advantage of running the mame2003 mod?

Why not patch the game yourself ? There are .IPS files out there you can use and either use Winips (to patch one .IPS file to a game) or Floating IPS (to patch more than one .IPS file to each game).

Patch the game, then load it into Hakchi.

That's cause mame and mame mini use same bin. So the last one you add as a mod will be used. You need to change the bin name of one of them then reinstall and you can use both cores.

Excuse me for my ignorance..lol..how should the bin name be changed?

Lets change the mini one. I assume you grabbed the folder from this link. Once you do that all you do is click bin and it will show mame2003. Change that name to something else like mamemini. Now uninstall old mame mini folder hmod. Put the new mamemini folder in user mods. And delete your old one in your user mods .And then reinstall new mini mod and change path in game to mamemini and reinstall mame2003 and have those games you want with that core to use bin mame2003 https://github.com/DSkywalk/retroarch-clover/tree/master/core_modules_extra/mame2003_mini.hmod
