Hacking 2.1.0 parental lock

Hello guys,

I recently bought a N3DS XL used from gamespot. Proceeded to install CFW. The issue im having is that i have downgraded to 2.1.0 but when going to, 'http://2xrsa.3ds.guide' there is a parental lock. Unfortunately every time i try to access the inquiry code in order to the key from this site, 'https://mkey.salthax.org/' the system hangs. I have a valid backup of my sysnand.bin. I have seen tutorials involving restoring the system nand, if you don't have a proper nand, which i do. Also spent about 2 hours guessing the code. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

The full version is 2.1.0. Just downgraded.
The thing is when trying to access the inquiry code menu the system just hangs and i am not able to see the inquiry code. Tried about 40 times various ways (with card in, through system or internet browser etc.)

Can you tell me your full System Version because maybe your 3DS has Frankenfirmware

Ok the Problem could be that something got corrupted while downgrading. Maybe the App for the Parental Control.

yea, guess the code and proceed with the rest of the guide.

so far, the only thing I can think of is to get to 4.x with a cart and use MSEThax (you WILL need a DS flashcart for this BTW) to restore your NAND backup. using the 4.x web browser exploit will probably not work unless parental controls is fixed.
once you restore your NAND backup, you should be able to remove the parental controls with salthax masterkey gen then try the 2.1 downgrade process again.

You can cart update to 4.x but anything higher will brick. Also any online updates will brick it trying to put 11.3 for o3ds on n3ds.

Proof? That's not what it says on the 3DS.Guide. It states, and always has stated, that updating a N3DS WILL brick your system if you're on 2.1

What I wanna know is why the OP didn't bother reading the warnings of the guide before he downgraded his system, as the guide clearly states that you should remove parental controls before downgrading.

Wtf? If you would read exactly, you would've known that he can't access the inquiry code because it hangs..
He has to restore his backup with a hardmod. No other option.

If this was an o3ds I would just say reset the console from settings. Not sure if it would work on n3ds. Can't test. I would assume a hardmod is the best solution.

Not even that would work because before you can format your system, you have to enter the parental code

Oh my bad. I was thinking of bypassing a NNID.. I system reset to do a system transfer to unban my n3ds xl a couple months ago.
