Hello! This may seem weird, but I have a fairly broken DS Lite that smells like pee (and has pee in the internals).
Backstory:
So, me family members and I were cleaning out the back-yard and we find a box. Inside, there was my special edition Mario DS Lite that I haven't seen in YEARS. However, it was covered in urine. I cleaned the out side part, and tried to turn it on. Didn't work. They I got my DS charger and put in in and VIOLA, it worked. When I turned it on, there was LOTS of screen discoloration on the top screen. For some reason, it asked me to configure the DS (putting in Nickname, fav color, ect.). When I was done, it asked me to restart. I pressed OK.
When it restarted, it brought me to the normal DS menu. SO I got a DS game and a GBA game, and they both worked. But you can't really play because the moving the DS a bit can cause the top screen to close. So now, I have a DS with a loose top screen, and smells like urine. What do I to now?

EDIT: Seems like a lot of people are worried about my health. Don't worry, I'm fine, I took all the necessary safety precautions.

EDIT2: Problem has been solved, lock please.

WHY URINE (WHY??)

ouch ... the internals are prolly cleanable if they even got any urine on them ... its likely mostly on the outer casing ... as far as the top lcd and loose hinge ... the lcd will likely need replacement and once cleaned the hinge may work properly again

Thats what i though, just needed someone better with hardware to double check with.

Man, why does everyone want me to buy a new DS? I mean, if you have read my sig, you know I have console to play games with, it just I have had this particular one since I was young, and I can't just throw it away like that.
I don't think you understand the amount of diseases rat urine carries, one of them being Leptospirosis
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptospirosis
We aren't telling you to pitch it because something stupid. You are literally carrying a diseased filled and piss smelling system around because of nostalgia

I'm planning to take it apart and clean it up. I have had this DS since I was young, so I'm not gonna just throw it away.

If youre serious about that, use electronics cleaner on the board, switches, etc. But not on the screen. (Sounds like your screen needs to be replaced tbh)

Wash the shell, buttons, silicone bits under the buttons in antibacterial soap and water.
