The issue, for US versions at least, comes from the unique colour profile code of the Switch promotional top armor. If it's in your inventory, it causes an error, as the number is too large to be parsed as 32-bit integer. If you sell that shirt, and make any stragglers have a value of 0 for "durability" (actually colour), then it will fix the issue.
