I'm wondering since I don't have any NFC devices except Nintendo systems, the Switch controllers, joy-con and pro, can connect to PC out of the box, maybe it's possible to write on an NTAG via PC.

Oh snap. CEMU does have NFC settings. The issue is I don't believe a PC accesses the NFC reader/writer in the pro controller or joy cons natively. Someone will have to figure out how to access that via bluetooth or wired connect. And someone will have to create the writer code and/or tie it in to CEMU. Then I could get a decent Wolf Link. :yayswitch:

Cemu can only read NFC right now, no write functionality. Otherwise I would have a 20 Heart wolf link right now and not be waiting weeks for my 20 NTAG215 cards to arrive...

technically it's possible if someone wrote a homebrew for Wii U or N3DS (or O3DS w/IR NFC Reader). There is already a homebrew for 3DS to hack/backup/restore Super Smash Bros. stats on SSB Series Amiibo's.
All Nintendo devices with NFC must support read AND write functions due to how the Amiibo work (especially SSB series, Wolf Link, Shovel Knight, etc).

Unfortunately the wolf link amiibo needs to be initialized on a wii u before you are able to write the appdata to the wolf link amiibo using tagmo, SSB Amiibo editor or any other NFC writing application. I've tried adding the appdata from a bin dump to my WL Amiibo but it just gets corrupted, there seems to be a checksum involved. Once initialized on a wii u you can just use tagmo to edit the number of hearts on the amiibo and profit.

I thought we were discussing this based on using blank NTAG215 tags, not reprogramming an out of the box amiibo. Sorry.

That could very well be what OP intended I just thought I would throw that out there as well. Sorry, didn't mean anything by it.

no offense taken or assumed

Also: Anyone without a NFC reader/writer should consider buying a used Nexus 7 (2nd gen/2013). You can get one on ebay for ~$100 or less and it's useful for a lot more than just Amiibo reading/writing.
you may even be able to get an old android NFC capable cell phone for a lot less and just use it as a mini tablet with wifi only...

I use an old Galaxy S4 as an alarm clock/bedtime surfer. The NFC capability is just gravy.
