Hardware Is the Wii U Pro controller compatible with the Switch?

Remember that some have tried it with emulators with a pc and it works

I did not try it with Nintendont. It's not available right now but I can try it later tonight.

I initially tried a wii U pro controller and it synced with Switch and showed the controller symbol but is non responsive.

Weird. I held the sync button on my controller for a bit and it didn't even try to detect it.

I just tried again and may have mistook both the jogcons together symbol on the main UI as a wii U controller. oops.

just remember, they did make that adapter to allow wii u players to use a freakin' gamecube controller for super smash bros, so nintendo can be cool sometimes

Now that SX OS and other homebrew are gaining momentum, do you guys think that we can get the WiiU Pro controllers working with the Switch without the need of the external Magic-NS Wireless Adapter? I know lots of people have these including myself (4 of them) and would be awesome to have them work for docked play. Do you think someone already sent this feature request to TX? THanks!

Is there a way to get the wiiU pro to work with the switch without the need of an external usb dongle? Doesn’t the switch support Bluetooth natively? With some software modification or homebrew isn’t this a possibility?

I believe it's one adapter per controller.

You can connect Wii U pro controllers to the switch, but you need an adaptor.
