Picodrive vs genesis_plus_gx

I installed genesis_plus_gx and have played a couple games (playing Streets of Rage 2 now) and everything so far seems good. It appears
everyone here is using Picodrive for Genesis games though. Why is that?

If I wanted to switch from genesis_plus_gx to Picodrive how would I do that? Do I uninstall it from hakchi, then install Picodrive?

Awesome, thank you. As for the CloverApp, is there really any reason to have it anymore? I don't have it installed but can still play SNES/Genesis/N64/etc but I was
wondering if there's anything I'm missing or doing wrong.

Clover app you only need if you want a icon along your installed games (so you can access Retroarch settings from a icon). ;)

I will try to do better in future. Which part you don't understand? To try to help you, instead of play BOTW

:D. Will be great if you have some spare time, will love to play Metal Slug. :)

I reproduced it, but don't know what to make of it (which is compounded by the lack of dmesg or any sort of log).

I could never get it below 112MB of free RAM, but while randomly navigating folders, I hit a C8 - observing the system state, I saw that it was again clover-mcp in a spin loop it couldn't get out of.

Whatever the resource issue is, it's not RAM, and it's not flash. Perhaps it's a basic Linux ulimit wall we're hitting from time to time (e.g. nprocs or the like)?

Also, thus far, I've had zero luck trying to build strace for the NESCE.

Anyone happen to have a static compile of it for this architecture? (tbh, I'm not 100% sure it's even possible to do a fully static build, given the kernel dependency on libc and mem).

That's cool. To do all this it looks like you don't need to install the CloverApp (standalone game), just enter the special menu by hitting start+select.
In this core is mapped "mame menu" button to Zr of a Wii classic controller. In this menu you can move with pad and select with Y button. You dont' need to enter RA menu to do the DipSwitches changes.

What I'm primarily concerned about is the following limits for clover-mcp:

Code:
Limit Soft Limit Hard Limit Units
Max processes 796 796 processes
Max open files 1024 4096 files
Max locked memory 65536 65536 bytes

Specifically, max open files seems low - I've seen it grow beyond 725 before a crash.

Will look harder at this particular angle.

Excite bike Temp Gauge, don't let it overheat or you'll get C8 Errors!

The temperature gauge from Excitebike. You overheat when it reaches the end, and in this case, browse too many folders and you'll get C8s!

Nice, so you tapped into the memory somehow to determine that? (I read that memory floods cause the folder browsing c8)

Image glitch on Tokimeki Memorial @ SNES9X2005.

Player 2 unable to be controlled on Brutal Mario (a SMW hack) @ SNES9X2005.

I just have an NES controller now. Do I need to mess w a controller hack to get the START+SELECT to get the menu? Or is that built in out of the box?

No, more of a joke. Would be cool if it worked, but I think the effort involved is better spent on a fix :P

Ahh, yeah I read Cluster is close to getting access to the RAM/memory. Wondering if he can trigger a clear cache or something after exiting a game and/or folder
as a potential fix.

This is really cute, and made me smile. Thanks :)

He just did a cute mockup of how it might look if we had a 'meter' telling us about how close we were to c8. :P hehe

I better start with this solution to all RA problems. Using last hakchi2 2.13e and last pcm pack in the video the steps(The video has some time).

Thanks. I tried to install the hmods as seen in the video. Uninstalling / Installing the modules works fine. However the games sync no longer works. There's an error saying that a path cannot be found in hakchi2\temp\user_mods
I tried installing the source code to debug it. However the source seems to correspond to version 2.13 and after trying to sync the games under the debuger, the led stays on forever.
@Cluster can you check that the source code from the zip is from version 2.13e because I'm not sure... :)
