I don't need to provide my proof. Look it up. I won't do your homework for you. If you don't believe me, that's on you. I don't have to explain myself.
If you know what you're talking about you should really be able to explain it quite easily. I just looked it up and I'm not seeing much conclusive stuff, I've actually seen people saying that the ps2 is harder to emulate.

I should be, sure. But do I have to pull up sources, etc. because some kid on the internet it wrong? Nah. He can do it himself. Again. I don't have to explain. He can research, himself.

I'm not finding much stuff saying that the ps2 is easier to emulate. I've seen something that says it's easier to dev for but that's about it. Some people are saying the ps2 requires something beefier than what the gamecube requires.
So a source would be rather nice.

What do you mean by something better? If you're talking about its power, it's far below Gamecube. Or at least a decent chunk. The Gamecube was more powerful. Fact.

Oh and before you decide to tell me "It's not just about the power", I'm aware.

That's most certainly not what people are saying. And I never said anything about something better. If you're wondering what I mean by beefier, I mean that some people have said it requires a better computer to play ps2 games.

I don't know who some people are, but they're wrong af. My cheapo computer could emulate PS2 far faster and more efficiently than it could with dolphin. Not that that proves my point at all. But I do think it speaks for something. But again, research. Google loves ya.

Gimme a source man, I tried a good search. Maybe the ps2 emulator you used was just way better than your gamecube emulator.

Both are extremely efficient after all the time put in to them. Of course somebody else is starting from scratch to get Gamecube VC running smoothly on Switch.

PCSX2 vs Dolphin. What I used. Just... learn more about their architecture and everything else. Then you'll know. It's like asking "can the Vita emulate the 3ds?" - no. No it cannot.

Yep.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Despite both emulators working rather well for pc I still think the Switch would have an easier time emulating Gamecube games.
Honestly idk, I don't know too much about processors and graphics cards or whatever.

Yeah I know. Either way, I can see both happening. PS2 via emulation (homebrew), and GCN via virtual console, (or the harder way) emulation. Either way I'm hyped for its future! I can see the Switch doing very well.

Yeah, it'll be great in a few months or so when everything gets going

Yes. Be skeptical all you want but it is possible (atleast, VC)

No, the Gamecube is just much more powerful than the PS2, just look at the facts. Don't always trust what other people say, especially not on the internet.

IIRC, the Gamecube is indeed more powerfull than the PS2, but the Ps2, just like the N64, is more complex and thus harder to emulate.

If Nintendo Switch really uses a custom tegra x1 then obviously gamecube can be emulated just look at nvidia shield.

Its just a matter of Time and fun. If no one makes it it wont be released. Technically it should work imo

this pages are so full of crap lol no one knows what an emulator even is and they keep saying the wiiu emulated the gc and it didint lol, nintendont is not an emulator at all, then the discussion of the gc vs ps2 lol.

just becuasea system is less powerfull does not mean its easier to emulate for the contrary look at n64,sega saturn and random consoles like 3d0 and atari jaguar, those system are way weaker than anything ps2 or gc related and yet you require a much beffier pc to even get games to playable speed lol, the ps2 was much more complex to emulate than the gc thats why you needed a better pc to run fullspeed but nowadays with the optimization ps2emus and dolphin have you dont need stuff so powerfull and tbh nintendo will probably release some gc remasters port the sourcecode of the gameitself into switch architeture and change stuff like analog triggers and hd textures and such.

Nintendo really makes weird decisions when it comes to Virtual Consoles. No Gameboy, Gameboy color, or GameCube virtual consoles games for the Wii U. Zero effort for the GBA virtual console games for the 3DS after the ambassador thing.

And then there is the other question of why some games are not released on the Wii U virtual console, like why is there isn't a main, none spinoff, Pokemon game on any of the Wii U's virtual console platforms.

The NDS Pokemon titles say hello!

The hardware's probably capable, but actually porting Dolphin to the Switch really isn't in the realm of possibility at the moment. If we had a CFW that offered the same level of hardware access as Android and a homebrew SDK robust enough (with good GPU support), it might not be entirely impossible to get something like 30FPS at native resolution in most games. Nintendo could probably come up with something better, but given that they still won't do SNES emulation on old 3DS models, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Thats because old 3ds has stupendously bad specs. I mean, one useable arm11 core at 250~mhz?
